Feel smart yet? Well you should, I know I did when looking it up on the internets. That series of tubes seems to know everything! But I digress, what I’m trying to get at is that FUNimation will be at MegaCon in Orlando, FL this weekend. We always love coming to the land of mouse and immerse ourselves within other fans of animated entertainment and comics who may or may not know fully about FUNimation. That and explaining to a few confused ones that Vegeta is not the bad guy from Mulan.

If you happen to be in the Orlando area you should come by and check out the show. Feel free to stop by the booth (#521 yo!) for some free stuff and exclusive items. Here is a quick list of our exclusive items on sale this weekend:
- Darker Than Black Vol. 3
- Full Metal Alchemist Season 2 Box Set
- Kenichi Season 1 Part 1
- Speed Grapher Box Set (Viridian Collection)
- Shin Chan candles (Free with purchase of Shin Chan DVD or $50 or more)
- Ah My Goddess keychain set (Free with purchase of $50 or more)
Also FYI, check out FUNimation.com/conventions for all convention info condensed into a nice one page list for every show.
We will also have some screenings and panels at the show. Not to mention MegaCon being great with the guest list and bringingout a few names you may recognize like Colleen Clinkenbeard, Aaron Dismuke, Caitlin Glass, and Vic Mignogna.
And if that wasn’t enough for you to leave the free pancake line at IHOP for the con we are happy to entice you more with an exclusive MegaCon Afro Samurai t-shirt. Over the years MegaCon has been great at having FUNimation series designs for their exclusive anime convention shirt and this year was no exception. These in the past have been known to sell out pretty quick. Hell, the one time we had FMA on the shirt I swear I saw someone pull out a shiv for the last one. Can’t prove it but I know what I saw… any-hoo, be sure to pick one up.

Ha! Didn’t once make a reference to Capcom’s Blue Boomer. High five for getting better with that whole self-control thing.
Next Week: Our ‘No Cons left behind’ program, the 2009 convention schedule, and stuff in my office.

Huh. Got an intresting group of guests there, don’tcha? If Travis Willingham was invited too, I’d start suspecting a certain announcement to come out… maybe involving a certain company finally agreeing to a certain liscense so certain 3am calls (Japan time) would stop…
But, you know. I’m just a fan, waiting for the inevitable, and hoping it happens soon enough for simultaneous streaming… >.>
uguu… This sucks I can’t go, I live to far away.
Thats A Mega lot of time it must have took to get that info.
You did make a reference to Capcom’s Blue Boomer! Keep trying on that self-control thing.
“Ha! Didn’t once make a reference to Capcom’s Blue Boomer. High five for getting better with that whole self-control thing.”
The info wasn’t to hard to find, it just looks that way.
I guess TECHNICALLY I mentioned that ‘Capcom guy’ but I never said his name so…ah…ah…that counts right?
What???
Yeah that counts that you didn’t say his name. I don’t even know his name.
Well he is in a series of popular video games put out by Capcom. Known for wearing blue and having one arm being a big blaster. That guy!
Are you talking about Proto Man’s look alike but red? I forgot the blue guys name?
I give Megaman
Now that I think of “Mega” there is a lot of things that start with Mega. I never even thought about it before.
You know that California’s also the “land of the mouse.”
But that’s another story for another day along with the one about a budget that’s 8 months behind.
One Piece Unlimited Cruise is coming to America!!!! Part 1 comes in June and Part 2 comes in August.
Wii + One Piece + Characters that has not been shown in America = Win!!!
Won’t be at MegaCon but looking forward to seeing Funi at SakuraCon
I wish I could go…
Too bad there really aren’t many big cons around southern Ohio…
I’m out of money so no hope of going.
A fair bit was spent on Funimation distributed and fully licensed DVDs though so it evens out.
Any more announcements planned for the cominc cons? (We need more things to spend money on, spending money helps the economy!)
We should have some more things to announce as the year goes on. What that maybe? Can’t say yet. Our ’sign this quick!’ list is pretty long these days.
i’m really looking forward to MegaCon! can’t wait to see the VAs and the Funi booth!
but i’m kinda disappointed that the VA panels and the screenings are scheduled for the same time on Sat. =P i really wanted to see “Heroic Age”, but Caitlin Glass takes priority! any chance you guys can move the screening to a later time? please? ^^;
Are you guys gonna update us people who can’t go?
We will have a blog up about the show next Wednesday for everyone who could not make it. Gotta share the love you know.
I live in NE Florida, but sadly cannot attend MegaCon, my first year not doing so in quite some time. I blame the economy for my current rut… gotta cut the leisure activities in favor of actual necessities…
No Cons Left Behind? Hm. Sounds interesting. I hope that means you guys are coming back to Anime Next this year. I have become such a huge fan of funimation and Anime Next is the only convention I get to go to every year.
I was in MegaCon Orlando @ Orange County Convention Center and Yaoi fans loved my Barack Obama T-shirt. Naruto Fans still remains. And watched Chaos;head.
And Mega? Megas XLR and Megaman. O RLY? Then again alienate this: animenation.com report Funimation will license Strike Witches later. I like Shojo anime. I swear.
