(Mnemosyne – Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi )
Rin Asogi doesn’t stand out in a crowd, but that’s okay by her. Going unnoticed is an occupational necessity for any private eye, and she’s the best in the business. It doesn’t matter if she’s rescuing lost kitties or infiltrating high-security laboratories, Rin is the dame you want handling your sensitive materials. Sure, she crosses paths with some shady characters in her line of work, but not having to worry about the little things – like bullet holes or brutal beatings – makes the job almost bearable. Life, on the other hand, is a different story. And it won’t get any easier with sadistic Apos the immortal sending wave after wave of assassins to claim a much sought after prize – the secret which lurks within the hunted Rin.

Finally, one of the greatest original stories to come out in a while, though I would expect no less from Xebec. Along with Seto no Hanayome, Heroic Age, Blassreiter, Kaze no Stigma, Tower of Druaga and Bamboo Blade and anything else I’m forgetting.
Now you need to pick up Kara no Kyoukai, the 6 part series of movies adapted from TYPE/MOON’s original novel written at their formation. Beautiful animation by ufotable and ED by Kalafina.
I second the request for Bokurano, also one of my favorites.
I also submit The Daughter of 20 Faces for possible licensing. An adaption of Edogawa Ranpo’s novels about Akechi, a sort of Japanese Sherlock Holmes; although this 22 episode series by Studio BONES focuses on Chika (Hirano Aya) as the successor to the noble criminal genius 20 Faces.

No, it’s not a hentai. Hentais are usually ‘porn with plot’, while Mnemosyne is defintely ‘plot with porn.’ While there are sex scenes (sometimes graphic), it’s not the point. They don’t occur that often.
I have seen Koihime Musou, and enjoyed it, though, admittedly I’m not a fan of shoujo-ai. Mnemosyne doesn’t have subtext like Koihime does, it’s pretty blatant (the aforementioned orgy). Girl on girl kissing, too. Though Spoiler ▼

But, despite all my sex talk, I hope people don’t get the wrong idea about this show. There’s far more to it. There’s mystery, intrigue, women kicking butt, and it keeps you guessing to the very end. It’s just something not for those with a weak constitution.
And if we can talk about hopeful lisences, I just want Funi to pick up where Geneon left off and get Nanoha StrikerS.

There’s a lot of concern floating about the net that this will be censored. Please go ahead and assure us that this will be the un-edited Japanese DVD release version. (And maybe give us a heads-up on if there will be a dub for this one. Please, don’t start going sub-only on us Funimation!)

I loved this series. How did I miss this?!
But please, don’t censor this. I have read that you are splitting the series into 12 half-hour episodes instead of the 6 hour-long episodes that originally broadcast, as well as toning down plenty of elements. Please, Funi, for the sake of all of us, do not censor anything. I’d be most displeased if you tampered too much with this.

Lol. This is to some extent Yuri, but i would call it more or at least give it more of a Goru/Cannibalism label. But hey, What ever hits your kink. I enjoyed this simply for the main characters were women fighters.

I’m definitely gonna buy this, loved this show, Rin is too awsome for words. Didn’t know someone picked this up stateside, just hope they didn’t censor it. The US is lax on censorship when it comes to sexual content/nudity in videos… so forcing TV edit censorship on DVDs here (or Japanese censorship laws) is a big way to kill off the adult anime fanbase. I’ll never forgive them for what they did to Ai yori Aoshi. wtf was up with the barbie dolls on DVD???

Very interesting story. I found it fascinating from episode 1-4 and then deeply engaging for the last 2 eps. In fact I wish there was more written about this, or some sort of secondary media (comic or book). I do agree at times the plot is washed away by the erotic imagery, but if you can deal with it the reward is a good story. I am a writer, and at times I like to use a sub genre of eroticism to push my primary genre forward. Think of how the HBO show ROME, or the current SPARTACUS uses action and adult themes to forward their stories.
