New Anime Survey

If you guys really want to hear from Scott, I might be able to make that happen. If I get a good response from you guys, we’ll unshackle Scott from his desk, maybe give him a little food and just enough time to express himself via blogging. Show him your love by voting on our poll.

I know how much you guys want to see more Scott, so show us how important his endorsement can be by flooding our survey with responses. Heck, maybe if we get enough people to take it, we’ll put Scott in some upcoming videos for your viewing pleasure. And Scott, if you’re reading this, this is a measure of your worth to the company – it can make or break you.
In all seriousness, you guys asked before about if we actually use information from polls. We definitely do, and this survey would be your best way to get some of your feedback across to really make a difference. We’ve made some drastic changes around here because of information like this. Please, do take the survey and answer as honest and truthfully as possible.
This is a pretty specific survey. We do have other surveys on more general habits and purchasing that help us to better capture the anime fan’s mindset. (I just have to find them…) I’ll be posting links to those and future surveys also.
And if you have any feedback on the surveys themselves, feel free to share you thoughts in our blog comments.

I can relate to what Mario 1-7 is saying. In my neighborhood, Clannad and Kyoto Animation are so epic that we had an all-day epic parade for them! Kyoto Animation is epic and everyone else is fail! Haruhi and Konata showed up and it was so epic we renamed the town epic city of epic. Everyone that showed up was epic and everyone that didn’t was failest of the fail tree fail on the internet fail! Kyoto Animation is the most epic anime industry of all and all the other anime libraries fail. They are fail because they are not epic like Kyoto Animation. If you don’t like Kyoto Animation you probably fail at the internet and mana tree fail and haven’t seen anything they’ve done because everything they do is an epic masterpiece of epic proportions and everyone that sees their shows thinks they are the most epic and win things ever and everyone else is stupid lame mega fail of the fail fail.
Facts are facts dude. Just accept it and don’t leave me in despair because that would be epic fail unlike Kyoto Animation which is epic epic!

@Mario, thanks for the amusement, and reminding me this is the internet and not to take things too seriously. Silly yaoi fangirls must have really gotten to me at the con~ But some of those posts are just so epic, maybe Luigi should have the town have parades for you instead? 
Wishing for slightly older titles, since I do feel you guys listen: I’ll say Kyou Kara Maou would be wonderful, and of course I hope you guys get around to the second half of Holic. Loved the first one, and very much want a chance to love Kei.
Also Katekyo Hitman Reborn would be fun, even if the quality of the animation kinda makes me cry. Faithful adaption, and some of the best must EVER, but gosh the animation is just so so which REALLY stands out with how breathtaking Amano draws the manga and how good she does with fight scenes. But on the other hand, seeing some of the fight scenes can be fun and more then that I kinda would like to see a dub for it….
very mixed feelings |D I know. I’d buy it if I saw it, but still looots of mixed feelings here.

2 questions
1)Are there more seasons of (Zero no Tsukaima) “Familier of Zero”? I thought there was just the Box set from Geneon/Funimation. Can I get confirmation of this from Funimation? If there is a second or third series, I’d have to collect them.
2)Is there going to ba a “Black Lagoon” season three? If memory serves, ANN states it’s approved and in production… Is Funimation the US distributor? If you are sign me up.

I voted for Basquash(even if the fanservice is a bit too pedo-y, the action scenes are the top of the game), Sengoku Basara and Guin Saga(haven’t watched yet, but looks great). I’d also like to see Souten Kouro licensed. It’s from some of the top people behind Fist of the North Star and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, animated by Madhouse(and is some of the best I’ve seen from them, which is saying a lot) and actually takes Romance of the Three Kingdoms seriously. It’s a guaranteed money maker amongst old school anime fans.

I’d buy dvds for Cross Game, Hayate, Hatsukoi Limited and Queen’s Blade. While we’re on the topic, not listed but other shows I’d definitely buy include: Valkyria Chronicles, K-ON, Birdy the Mighty, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai and Rei (the second season and OVAs of When They Cry), and Toradora.
A few other series in your list have my attention (including Phantom) but I’m not ready yet to commit to purchasing them.

The survey was lacking in shows, which I assume were meant to be limited to this season. As much as I don’t like it (K-ON!), or find it mediocre, I think it would be a rather idiotic choice to pass it up given the chance.
Futhermore, Asura Cryin’, Valkyria, and Saki all seemed somewhat decent. I haven’t checked out any other series that have not been listed in the survey though.
Chrome Shelled Regios is a winter show, so that’s probably why it wasn’t included. That’s probably a good thing, as with The girl who leapt through space and, as much as I enjoy it, Birdy the Mighty Decode which were all series of sub-par quality.
On the flip side, White Album and Rideback would be good winter choices… though even I wouldn’t buy them and I’m not particularly stingy.

Eden of the East, hands down.
That show just speaks “license license license.” Having an anime about a nude guy with a gun and a cell-phone running around the White House in Washington D.C and making tons of American movie references? Funi CANNOT say no to that lol. It’s surely the highlight of the season besides all the fanservice, moe and cliches out there.
And as much as I hate K-ON!, I doubt they’ll pass it up. Maybe they’ll make it a surprise…or maybe another company will get it.

I’ve given up on American anime publisher’s(including most of Funimation), because the titles they’ve been choosing to bring over for the past year and year in the future, are almost all horrible choices.As someone above said, the obvious choices that should be first on Funi’s list of properties to aquire for American release are K-ON!,Eden of the East, and Toradora….yet where are they?! Instead we’re getting more Gonzo shovelwear(I cannot wait til they go under for good!) and likely will get
stuff like Queen’s Blade(for obvious reasons as hard up fanboys will pay anything to get ahold of that one).
If any of you can read/speak Japanese, i reccommend pickign up the upcoming Summer Japanese Bluray releases of Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood,K-ON!, and Eden of the East.Kurikami and Eva’001 wil be out on Japanese Bluray at the end of May as well.

Please license Toradora, that series is a one of a kind masterpiece that only comes out every couple of years. I watched every episode and would buy the complete series if licensed.
Also Funimation, in the near future, could you please consider licensing the Hare and Guu Finale?
