Obscure Podcast Host Gets New Gig!
While I am excited to contribute to the FUNimation Blog, I am feeling a bit disturbed. I think Rojas has it out for me. He wants me publicly shamed.
Why else would he have created a “How Bad Do You Want To Hear From Scott” poll yesterday? I’m supposed to be writing episode summaries for Soul Eater, not blog-lurking to see if people still remember the fun we had last year with the Quickie.
I decided to confront Rojas this morning. Determined to not let his boyish good-looks distract me, I walked to his office-cube.
He wasn’t there, so I took the sandwich from his lunch. Since it wasn’t PB&J, I tossed it in the trash. If Rojas had been there, though, I would have said:
“Dude. The Quickie was eons ago! Nobody remembers! It’s true that I met Quickie fans at conventions all over the U.S. and our numbers were totally going up with each episode. And, yes, we turned the craft of Poorly Executed Visual Gags into an art. But how the—“
At this point in my imaginary rant, Lance walks up and interrupts with a semi-brilliant pun. This is a common occurrence at FUNi-HQ.
Anyway, it means a lot to me that you guys voted to let me be a part this. Here’s what I’m thinking: While Rojas and Lance bring you the “news”, I’ll snag the Blog-o-Cam and occasionally bug FUNimation employees about the stuff they’re working on. It’ll be swell.

Oh, and FYI — Rojas is the zombie eating the Christmas tree in the Quickie Holiday Episode. He’s truly a gifted actor.

Now as far as I can tell, DVD releases don’t have episode summaries. And I don’t think the directors, engineers, or voice actors need them. In fact, the only thing I can think of in which FUNimation uses episode summaries is the video portal.
So does that mean we’re getting episodes of Soul Eater online sometime soon? : )
