UPDATE: So I just confirmed a new show announcement this weekend at Anime Boston. I know that there’s at least one rabid fan on the blog who wants this show. Be sure to check out our industry panel if you’re interested. =)

I can say that because I spent most of my youth in MA so don’t be a hater.
Any-who, Anime Boston. This weekend. You should be there.

FUNimation Industry Panel – Sat. 5pm, Constitution Room
The staple for us at all the cons. The one where I talk as fast as I can to get out as much info-tainment as I can on all our new items coming out over the next 2-3 months. Sometimes we do some special things or have announcements. I’d be sure not to miss this one.

I noticed on the twitter you may be able to announce the Eva 1.0 cast at Anime Boston. I certainly hope so. As for the industry panel, hopefully you’ll announce something good. I mean, why else would you tell us NOT to miss it? :p
Also, I’m going to have nightmares now over that Devito Pikachu thing. Thanks a lot. You’ve scarred me for life.

I wish I had the money to go to a con right now.
Anyway, sounds like maybe ya’ll got something interesting planned. Hope to hear about another great license. I’ve got a lot of Will Buys on my list right now. (Wish some of them would hurry and get out. Where is that Gunslinger Girl 2? I know it probably won’t be as epic as the first series but still.)
Got Kaze no Stigma on pre-order right now along with Shameless Plug 3: Shakespearean Anime Joy a.k.a. Romeo x Juliet. It’s been a very long time since this was recommended to me and I’m finally getting it.
Again, hope to hear more good news. I get so little positive news from the other companies and half of what I do get is maybes. I like to think I know what to expect from Funimation. (Really, the only complaint I have is a list of things I want ya’ll to license and a request for more extras on the DVDs or at least a seperate fandisc or something. Doesn’t have to have a case, just a disc with some cool extras would rock.)

At the risk of being frakked by the OT Police, I heard a rumor that FUNi is (in some shape or form) also going to be at Anime North in Toronto.

That line looks very suspicious. What do you have up your sleeve? An ace? A whole deck of cards? Or something else?
Will Funimation also be announcing the cast at Anime North because I know there is a funimation industry panel on the schedule.
Sorry I’ll miss it, but I’ll keep my eyes open for whatever you might announce.
Also, on the conventions page, I think the NYAF schedule is out of date.
Rojas, if the Ikkitousen boxset/Gad Guard is exclusive, what if someone got before the con? lol
Lance Heiskell, our Marketing Director and other key blog poster, will be a guest at Anime North this weekend. He will be running the panels for us at the con.
If you were able to pick up the exclusives early then some stores were putting it out before they were suppose too. enjoy your early pick-up.
Adam, Will they be announcing the same things at Anime North? Because I would love to know the cast of Evangelion 1.0 as well but will not be around a computer.

I just know it’s going to be Saki, I just know it, I’m not happy about it, I just know it.
Oh and you better have brought back the old Eva dub group.
I’d love it if the new license is Ring ni Kakero 1, but there are two problems:
1. I seem to be the only one who even mentions the show, though I do bring it up as much as possible (like right now)
and
2. Chances are it will be Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, due to one “rabid fan” who is continually “in despair” and… No, that’s pretty much it.
So, just to reitrate: I want it to be Ring ni Kakero 1, but I’m expecting Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei… Oh well, another license that’s not really on my must-have list.

I’m pretty sure it’s Spice and Wolf. I found this: Kadokawa Pictures USA acquired an in-house license for the first Spice and Wolf anime season in North America, although the announcement on a distributor is still forthcoming.
Hey, is the FUNimation title being announced at animevice.com tommorow the same title that’ll be announced at Anime Boston?
Only one new license? Are you guys getting a little overwhelmed with new titles?
Very interested to see what the new title is. Hopefully, it will be something that I can sink my teeth into so to speak.

@ Cookies: You are so right. I haven’t been keeping a running total but just off the top of my head I can remember at least fifteen different posts about how Spice and Wolf is “too niche” for an English dub and “it will never sell” and blah blah blah. (The worst are always the “it doesn’t deserve a dub” posts.)
I haven’t watched fansubs of this show so I can’t claim to already know if I’ll love it or not but what I’ve read and heard about it makes me think I’ll like it a lot. And I haven’t read or heard anything to make me think it’s destined to be a huge flop, with or without an English dub.
While there are other shows I’d be more excited about a license for, this is certainly good news!
(Hopefully we get a cast list before the end of the year.)

Richard J: I don’t understand the people who say “it is too niche for a dub”, when there’s so many people out there screaming for the show, I think that means it’s fairly popular, It should do alright. If Peach Girl made money, this can easily. Because no offense, but I never meet a person who was a huge fan of that show, but there’s tons of people who love Spice and Wolf…
If anything, giving Spice N Wolf a Dub, is better than, say.. doing a Bandai and not dubbing Hayate and making it into parts for a premium price for what it essentially Is.
