I am. It is in Dallas, so why not. If you’re going to be there, let me know. We don’t have an official presence, but a few folks from the office will be attending.  FUNimation’s manager of Operation Anime will be in artist alley.  Look for her table called Initial Anime in section D-6. Click HERE for map. You also can check out her soon to be updated deviantART.  So, visit her table and buy something. Remember she gives clubs free anime.

As for me, I’ll be sporadically floating  around the convention all weekend.  I might hang out with some friends at the MEK booth for a bit. Otherwise, I have no clue where I’ll be. With the busy work days, I haven’t had a chance to create a new cosplay outfit, so it’s plain clothes for me. Or I could totally cop out and wear a white long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.  I wouldn’t even have to change my hair.

If I can track down a decent internet connection, I’ll try to update during the weekend. For those of you attending, leave me a comment and tell me what you’re cosplaying as.  Maybe I’ll run into you. Also, any suggestions on events or panels?

If you want suggestions on sit-down food nearby, there’s a Thai restaurant down Elm St. that I used to work at called Tuk-Tuk Asian Cuisine that’s pretty good.  On that topic, there’s also a Mexican restaurant located where I used to work called Sol Irlande’s Mexican Grill.  And if you’re looking for a little more high-class experience, you could check out another place of previous employment called Swirll Winery. Before being a part of making anime, I made wine. Like many people, I’ve had my share of part-time jobs. Many just happen to be in Downtown Dallas.  A bit of tangent there… so anyway, hit me up on the comments.

Hey Rojas, how many days are you going for? I’ll be bringing my same group from the last time we met, on saturday. We’ll be cosplaying as a group of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s (Ukrainians who run around in military NBC gear.) Plus one L with cat ears.

I may also have to take up that offer for anime clubs, since I’m the new parliamentarian for the FM public library’s club (the president will be wandering around somewhere too.) You should drop in the next time we have a meeting.

I wish I could go but Dallas is is too far for me given my aversion to flying and my low budget. (Right now, I’m saving up for some PVCs and more anime from Funi.)

I don’t suppose we’ll hear another license announced or anything? I know being awesome is a tough job but since no one else is making with the big licenses. . . .

When I was out of high school, I was 17. Though the club did not exist then, seeing the requirements, I still wouldnt have shown up, even though I doubt you have to show a valid ID to participate. =)
