I loved Fruits Basket, so I’m glad for the positive press! It does seems a bit strange to feature it in Macy’s kids department, though… I’d think a big bookstore chain like Borders or something would have more anime fans. Huh.

It’s a shame that more events like this don’t take place on the west coast, oh well.

I agree with otakureview and Hannah. Too bad. But wait – if you spend $75, you get the DVD set AND book series for free??

How funny, though. While this event is going on, I’m going to be at a FullMetal Alchemist panel that includes Laura Bailey :)

Wish I could go but the man who lives in south Georgia and is not rich does not casually go to Macy’s in NY. Just once I’d like to see an event for anime in Augusta or Savannah. On the rare day something does come to Georgia, it’s in Atlanta, a city that wracks my nerves to drive in. (Too many one-way streets, streets with Peach Tree in the the name and the traffic is. . . not as bad as some big cities but still irritating.)

Awesome that this even includes DVD giveaways. Whatever helps Funimation is good in my opinion right now. (Navarre’s stock is up lately, could that be a sign of Funi’s well-being? I HOPE SO! )

The entire DVD set and all the manga seems unlikely. I’d assume that one of the old single DVDs and volume 1 of the manga would be given out, as the single DVDs aren’t really sold anymore, thanks to multiple releases of the full set. So in a sense, it’s not really going to cost anything because it’ll be excess stock that won’t really sell.

I’ll also be at the panel on Saturday with Laura, looking forward to it! Would love to be at this event as well, but I’ll settle for the con this weekend.

If I lived in the area I would go to that. Looks like a lot of fun. :/

This sounds like so much fun! I wish I lived closer. Why doesn’t Chicago have fun stuff like this? I was just at Anime Central and we had a HUGE Fruits Basket group. I was Hana and we even tracked down an Uo! It was epic.
