Ouran HSHC Panel at ACen 2009

Compliments of YouTube user whitelancer64, here are some videos from this past weekend’s Ouran HSHC VA panel at Anime Central 2009.  On the panel are FUNimation’s Caitlin Glass, Vic Mignogna, and Colleen Clinkenbeard.  I’m sure many of you are already familiar with some of their work.  Were any of you there?  Did you get a hug from Vic?  Wish you did?

Click ‘more’ to check out the rest of the videos.

    Rojas,

    Have you ever thought of doing an “ask the voice actor” video thing where we could ask questions of our favorite voice actors? I think that would be really neat.

    Hey FUNi will you guys be at Otakon 2009?.. I want to go to that. I hear Kanon Wakeshima will be there (She sings ~Still Doll~ from the Vampire Knight ending.)

    Man I want to see her sing this song live. I’d melt if I was there :oops:

    We should be at Otakon 2009 – check funimation.com/conventions for our conventions schedule.

    @rooboy
    It’s harder to catch voice actors since they are not full time employees and are contract workers. When they are in office, they are extremely busy since we have to get shows out so much faster to meet fan demand.

    Ah. So… No Q&A time with the voice-acting people on this blog, huh? :(

    Did you atleast let them know that their work is highly appreciated (by those who can’t afford to go to these conventions)?

    Speaking of voice-acting: I notice that that one Alison Retzloff / Viktorin (Fumika & Fuuka Narutaki of Negima!?) had been missing between episodes 23~26 of that show; Cherami Leigh replacing her. I hope nothing bad had happened to her, and I hope whatever happened was under good terms.

    @Corey Lucas

    No offense but I just can’t see/hear Vic being Lawrence but i can either see/hear Eric Vale or Travis Willingham

    As for Horo, Yeah either Laura Bailey or Christina Vee.

    Gotta go! *running from the “off-topic” police*

    Man, that panel looked like a lot of fun and it makes me want to pop in my Ouran High School Host club dvds…but I have midterms! Funimation, you do indeed provide me with a guilty pleasure and I thank you for that. :-)

    I love when I can agree with Tyrenol about something. I’ve never been to an anime convention (I haven’t even been able to go to Dragon Con, which was an annual fun event for me for several years now) but I absolutely appreciate the very hard work that Funimation’s VAs and others do. I’d fanboy out something terrible though in the presence of certain VAs though so maybe me not being at cons is a good thing. :oops:

    I hope nothing’s wrong with Alison too. While I like Cherami quite a bit and I’m sure she does a good job there, recasts always set me to worrying. Paranoia might as well by my middle name. :wink:

    It was pretty strange my first few weeks here to randomly see VAs walking around the office. Carrie Savage would be around the marketing department every so often and I would just hear her high-pitched, little girl voice from one of the offices. It was pretty surreal.

    I don’t go to cons, mainly because I live out in the country. Thanks for the videos on the VA panel. It was pretty interesting and entertaining. Although, it would have been nice that you stated somewhere that this was the “Orion VA Panel”. For the first five minutes, I was trying to figure out what show they were talking about. :oops:

    This is a cool thing you guys are doing here. :D

    You guys are giving the people who can’t go to cons or haven’t been to a con before to give a bit of the con experience.

    I hope to see more of it or better yet…… :idea:

    Is there a chance that fans could upload any con footage they get and want to share. (pending all the permissions and blessings and legalese of course) that would rock. :mrgreen:

    @ Rojas

    My question hadn’t been answered: Did anything (bad) happen to Alison Retzloff / Viktorin?

    Rojas on says:

    @Tyrenol
    Hmm… I honestly don’t know. I’ll try to ask around.

    @Netstryke
    If you guys get some nice videos up on YouTube you can let me know and I’ll see if we can deem it appropriate for the blog.
