yu yu hakusho was the best anime ever, more merchandise should be sold of it! Plushies, shirts, action figures! I’ve been searching for a Hiei plush for quite sometime now, and all places are completely sold out and will most likely never be restocked because they are all out of print.

I’m happy to see Ouran make the list, but I’m surprised Code Geass isn’t higher than it is.

I think it’s an alright list. The only ones that I have seen are Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, and Yu Yu Hakusho. I loved them all, but Yu Yu Hakusho is my favorite I watched all the episodes on the computer and know that I now that I like it I am starting to get all the seasons on DVD. I still need to get the 4th season, I cant wait until I get it.

Maybe if Bleach fans bought it as much as they downloaded it, it would be. Sorry for the sarcasm but that’s a the problem. I like Bleach just fine but if the DVDs don’t sell, then it doesn’t climb the charts.

Afro is high because it has wide mainstream appeal and the people it appeals to don’t do as much illegal bit torrenting as anime fans. And those that do have a higher tendency to buy the real thing rather than a cheap knockoff bootleg. There are a lot of Bleach fans with bootleg DVDs out there.

Bleach season 4 is a fake. It’s not even part of the main stroy. Like with naruto it was just filler to creat some time for the manga to gain some further ground in the story. I’m not even sure I’ll buy the 4th set, just like I didn’t buy any of the sets of Naruto after set 10. Thoes sets were the filler for naruto. But your right that the DVDs are takeing forever. They are already showing the stat of the Arancar/Vizard battles. Wounder whats the hold up for dvd releases.

@ NJ_: Oh you know exactly what I meant, don’t play dumb for the sake of a dig at VIZ. Even if they do deserve the dig. There’s a big difference between selling well and selling great. Bleach sells well, as in above average but it doesn’t sell great. I was clearly implying that Bleach wasn’t selling great, just well enough.

The slow release schedule is part of the problem but there are also exposure issues. Naruto, for instance, has far better mainstream exposure because it aired on Toonami instead of dead late [adult swim], Afro is so bloody high because of Samuel L. Jackson. DBZ gets nostalgia points from it’s TV run. Ouran is just a big freaking success all around and is, I think, the only one that has never run on regular TV. (Maybe on Funi’s channel but that’s it.)

The success of Bleach is hurt badly by the online fanbase that doesn’t do buy legal product. Same with a lot of anime. The industry would have far fewer problems, possibly none at all, if all the leeches actually bought official DVDs. Merchandise sales just don’t cover all the expenses and I doubt the claims of many leeches who say they buy those. (Conventions are meaningless as they don’t send money into any anime production budgets.)

Glad ouran is way up there. it is good.Code geass? I’ve heard of it but wat is it really about?
