Friday we had the a couple autograph sessions with Afro Samurai creator Bob Okazaki, then Mike McFarland and Brina Palencia. Bob’s always such a nice guy. He even did a few awesome drawing for the fans. We also had the the Evangelion 1.0 dub premier as well as our sneak peaks panel. A good time was had by all.  Turnout for the event was just about a full house.  Fan seemed to respond well to the new / old cast.  The Evangelion 1.0 premier was preceeded by a chorus of Rei clones singing “Fly Me to the Moon.”  Wish you could see it? Luckily I got a bit of video of it – sorry the lighting wasn’t great and I haven’t had time to splice the videos. Here’s the raw version.

Fun times with cosplay. After the Eva screening we had the sneak peaks panel where Adam showed clips of various anime including Baccao!, Kenichi, D.Gray-man, Kaze no Stigma, and Sgt. Frog!!! That was pretty epic to see the Chris Sabat in frog form. During the panel, I hopped onto my DS to check out the pictochat comments. I did find an onslaught of pixelated Adam likenesses and phallic images. *Sigh*Oh how we use pictochat so well. I did manage to call the users out on their unoriginal use of phallic images, which spawned images of the female anatomy instead. Great.

I also got to hit up the AMV contest. I have to say I was a bit skeptical, but those were some awesome videos. Over 5,500 attendees for the event. I hear it’s the best turnout yet. Worst part of that was after it let out – trying to catch a bus along with 5000+ other people doesn’t work out so well. Lance and I walked it back to the hotel instead.

I do need to get over to the convention soon, so I will try to check in a little later in the day.

If you checked the schedule they provide it’s 12:30 pm local time. So panel just started about 10 minutes ago.

Nice, a new license, allbeit one that isn’t all that appealing to me but the Slayers cast returns will make a lot of people happy. I’ve never gotten into that series but now I feel like I could without nearly as much annoyance over VA issues! Awesome.

Someone should inform Wiki that they were made of fail with their “cast” list. :twisted:

That is what I figured and that is why I mentioned. I have to remind myself what time it is there too during anime expo. Not totally sure about the new licensee but really glad that the cast Lisa is returning as Lina. YEAH!

Xellos is the only exception (originally played by David Moo, now played by Michael Sinterniklaas) but yeah, it’s more of a reason for me to look forward to the three season box that’s coming next month without having to worry about the Revolution & Evolution-R dub being completely different.

WHOOT! Thanks funi for Sengoku Basara (saw the news on ANN.com)! It was one of the shows I voted for. It just looks ridiculously silly and badass at the same time, which is no easy feat!

And thanks for the return of the cast of Slayers! I know that there were a lot of people that were eagerly waiting to find out about that, and are now super happy with the return of so many of the main characters!
