    FUNimation, I just have one important request in regards to Sengoku Basara’s release: Please, for the love of (insert deity here), DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT CALLING THE SHOW “DEVIL KINGS”! Capcom royally messed up the series over here by ruining the localization of the original game (the only one in the series we got), and I don’t think Udon helped any bit by calling the manga release “Devil Kings Basara”.

    Just keep the “Sengoku Basara” name and change nothing for the dub… You’ll be thanked very much for that, guaranteed.

It was mention at anime next that got to get more a contract for more episodes from japan as there previous one only went season 5 episodes. Sailor Moon is a bit tricky since from what I heard at anime next that it will be hard and that has to do with problems the creator had I think. Though I always hold out hope that funimation can do something.

    Or maybe they just need more time to negotiate the byzantine depths of the Japanese license holding production committees. I’m pretty sure difficulty with the producers was what held up Ouran for so long and it’s been mentioned before that they can have control over issues as close to home as casting, the title in English for the series and packaging. That doesn’t even take into account how they can have approval rights to scripting, imagine the headaches of dealing with a micro-manager while trying to do a rush deadline.

    It can be a very long trip from “fans want this and we want it too” to “we have the license.” Besides, more cons to come. More licenses will be had this year, though probably not many.

    Funimation’s held up a lot better than the other companies so far so I’ll keep giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. (They start putting out sub-only and I’ll know it’s time to just abandon all hope.)

    FMA: Brotherhood – probably 2010 sometime. We have to wait to for the series to finish airing and the DVD masters to be made and stuff like that.

    FUNimation.com/Video is up but still in maintenance. FMA: Brotherhood is still going live every Thursday. Phantom I believe is still being discussed.

    Liscensing a series is a long and expensive process and a survey like that was just a way to find out what would be worth their time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sailor Moon was put on there last minute as a tester for old school fans and I’d be willing to bet anyone $5 that NO ONE there imagined the massive amount of feedback the title would bring.

    The point is that now they are aware the fanbase is still pretty big and we ever so desperately want this show back. Now they have an interest in the liscense and if they can get Mrs Takeuchi and Toei to give the US another chance with the dub, then I’m sure FUNi will leap at it.

    Instead of looking at this as a “joke” we moonies need to realize that we finally got our foot back in the door of a place that thought we were dead.

Resident Evil Dark Side Chronicles another spin off rail shooter (Which looks epic but I have said I have a weakness for Resident Evil) And even they ripped us off with Resident Evil 4, a month before the Cube release the announced a PS2 release the Graphics on PS2 took a big hit but they added like 3 game modes and and more weapons WTF was that? That **** wasn’t cool at all. Then on Wii the Nintendo Fan get the PS2 Version with Wii controls and Graphic on Par with Gamecube, eto.. Wii have 3 times more power than the Cube so why did they make a big deal about the game have Gamecube graphic when this is the New (Now old) Generation of consoles? Capcom does this to Nintendo fan all the time but it never goes opposite. Street Fighter IV not on Wii but we get The Anime Characters VS Capcom and later 2010 the Anime Characters will be on another console with like 10 extra characters. Capcom Fails harder than ADV and Bandai put together wait…. No one can fail harder than ADV.

    The h-anime was based on some h-filled dating simulator.

    Koihime Musou is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT h-filled dating simulator. It was, as I said before, a feminized and lesbianized version of the Chinese “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” story. And it featured a guy who, thanks to some mirror, ended up travelling back in time into a “hot chick w/ upskirt benifits” version of China’s feudal era.

    The anime based on this had been un-h-ed, the man was excluded, and it emphasized the Japanese anime industry’s hatred of young men despite tons of fanservice.

    Maybe if it stayed with its roots, Koihime Musou would’ve been EPIC. Maybe even owned some AWESOMAGE orz here and there. But, unfortunately, it’s now worthless except for the obvious fanservice.

    The bad news is that we’ll get a suicidal teacher, Rie Kugumiya’s character beating down someone twice her size, Rie Kugumiya’s character beating down a feminine butler twice her size, and KyotoAnimu’s pandering to the useless in the upcoming future.

    Nope. No worries from here. (Actually, I AM worried.)

    While i do like Capcom more than the other video game publishers i agree on Fighting Jam being awful and that they’ve made a lot of mistakes (two of them being the 3D flop that was Mega Man X7 and not adding certain characters in Street Fighter IV although that didn’t stop the game from being good in my opinion).

    That’s fine with me if the results have to be kept quiet but i’m still not keeping my hopes up on Sailor Moon especially with the circumstances behind it. I’ll save my mark out moment for when/if there is a rescue announcement in the future.
