We had our Fourth of July last week, but did you know France has an independence day too? It’s called Bastille Day, celebrated on July 14. Today marks the day the citizens of France, frustrated and hungry after the Royal family squandered the country’s riches, stormed the fortress in Paris, a place symbolic of Noble rule.
Granted, part of the reason France went poor is helping us pay for our own Revolution, but never mind that. What we really think of when it comes to French excess is the Palace of Versailles and the time leading up to and including Marie Antoinette. Before her time, though, was the time of Louis XV and the opulent setting of Le Chevalier D’Eon.
What better way to enjoy the height of over-the-top French fanciness than through an aggressively Rococo anime full of action and Royal intrigue? I certainly can’t think of any.

The state I am now however, its history was mostly how it used to be almost half the size of the US, its own country, and how it should, once again, become its own country. No field trips whatsoever
