If you’re a Dallasite and watch get a little bit of culture in your diet, come check us out at AFFD. We will have some FUNi folks at the screening of ICHI if you want to stop by and say hi. Unfortunately, (or fortunately… depends on how you look at it) Adam, Lance and I will be in Baltimore for Otakon, so we won’t be seeing you there. But the movies’ are much more interesting than us, trust me. Do you part to support the film and our friends at AFFD!

ICHI –
She cuts through darkness in search of light
SUMMARY
Ichi honors the classic tale of the blind samurai while casting the legend in breathtaking new light. In a role traditionally played by men, award-winning actress Haruka Ayase is both tender and brutal.
Beautiful Ichi wanders blindly from village to village, searching for the sightless swordsman who long ago taught her to kill. Her technique is exquisite and explosive, her defenses as impenetrable as the darkness in which she moves. Many along her solitary path are touched – some by the sound of her delicate music, others by the edge of her lethal blade. Also starring Shidou Nakamura (Letters from Iwo Jima), with original music by Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Dead Can Dance).
Also showing at AFFD:

Rojas: Will there be any panels at Otakon on how to get into the industry like for me in the case working for FUNimation since i have a diploma in Film and that I’m good in Script writing and adaption and currently working in acting and CG?
I’ll be at the Mushi-shi screening, but not the Ichi.
if only I can go toDallas… So does this mean there will finally be a release date for Mushi-shi on DVD? I’m sure there are lots of people waiting for a North American release of the film.
Ok, I know Mushishi is being released on August 25th on dvd, but will there be a bluray as well? I on Shinobi on bluray and have enjoyed it immensely, and would love to see more foreign films released on bluray.
What?! Where did you get that little tidbit? If it is being released on Aug. 25th then Yay!!
I can finally have a real legit copy of it. Yeah I actually really do like the live version, though the animeand manga are, of course, much better.

Hurricane Rojas put my town under a tornado warning XD A couple of them...
