Winner Of Juried Emmy Award For Outstanding Individual Achievement In Animation
Spike TV will present a special encore presentation of the critically-acclaimed, funktastic anime series “Afro Samurai: Resurrection,” in honor of its Primetime Emmy®-nomination for Outstanding Animated Program (for programming one hour or more) tonight, Friday, September 11 (1:00 – 3:00 AM, ET/PT). This is Spike’s first-ever Primetime Emmy®-Nomination from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The winner of this animation category will be revealed during the 2009 Creative Arts Awards on Saturday, September 12 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. “Afro Samurai: Resurrection” has already been honored with a 2009 juried Primetime Emmy® Award for Art Director Shigemi Ikeda, Art Director for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.
A few folks from the office including CEO Gen Fukanaga and Mario, brand manager for Afro, are headed out to party it up in L.A. with the celebs or whatever it is you do at the Emmys. I think that’s something I won’t have the luxury of finding out. Former intern now marketing coordinator Joel did get the luxury of picking up the shoes for the tuxedo rentals, so it’s kind of like he’s getting ready to party. Anyway, wish us luck on scoring Emmy #2 for Afro. It’s kind of a big deal. If we do win, I’m sure Mario will celebrate enough for the rest of us.

Good Luck Dudes… You know what I never watched Afro Samurai before. But since its such a epic deal and this show is winning awards I would like to see why people think its so good. So tonight I will give my time to this show. Samuel L Jackson leaves me in Despair that the real reason i never watched. There are no sharks in this show right? Ha ha ha ha!..Joke Joke… ^_^ ”We are gonna find away to get outta here” GUMBMUMMUMMUM” BURP!”
