    FMAfan on says:

I’m so thankful that they kept almost the entire old cast. Aaron is understandable. And I watched an episode of Romeo xJuliet in English to hear Maxey’s voice, and she sounds promising. I approve this choice.

    phoenix-thunder on says:

I love the fact that Aaron is still going to be in this, but at the same time, I hope he isn’t Ling. I would highly prefer Todd Haberkorn for this role.
The only character I think Aaron can do is…
Spoilers if you didn’t watch episode 26 or read chapter 53:
    Spoiler ▼

But now that I think of it, it would be odd… whatever, just ignore me…
And so far, I love the original cast for coming back. J Michael Tatum I have to get use to for Scar (because I bought the Premium OVA collection and he sounds kinda odd to me), but Yay for Maxey Whitehead! =D

    Jay on says:

@Tsu-can & phoenix-thunder: Yeah I agree that that would work for Aaron, but it completely messes with the logic used when they re-cast Vic, I mean he’s okay; however, a 14-16 year old boy should sound like a 14-16 year old boy not a grown male (no matter how much Helium this VA sounds like he has taken, no offence). They could have gotten a young(ish) person to do his voice, or better yet, another girl… I mean there are plenty of English-lang VA’s that do a mean boy voice. (and by ‘mean’, I mean good lol)

Stop with the mediocre VA’s that sound nothing like the character they are trying to portray please!  :D

Okay, I understand that I’m obviously not getting through… and I’m sure the anime will do all right with this current cast – maybe even better since your playing to the crazy fans out there. I’m just looking for good dubbing rather than some person to be a fan of. Quite frankly I’d rather be a fan of a particular anime character or series, than be a fan of a VA, it just makes more sense that way; I mean if it was the VA I was a fan of, then I wouldn’t be able to take it seriously, all I’d be able to see is that person acting all eccentric whilst being recorded rather than enjoying the anime at hand. Anyway, that’s it from me… definitely… I’m going… No more snarkiness… that’s it…

    Hope you enjoyed, bye!

    Fullmetal-Fan on says:

You have to remember that there are reasons why the same voice actors were chosen again. There are many, many FMA fans that love the previous actors, so by choosing the same actors, they’ll probably make more money selling the DVDs and such. Don’t get me wrong, there’s probably plenty of people who agree with you, but then again there’s plenty more who don’t. A lot of people don’t like when things change, so they’re not going to buy something they don’t like, you know? (…why do I feel I’m just pointing out the obvious? -__-’)

Personally, I love Vic as Ed. There’s something about his voice that suits Ed best. In all honesty, I think Romi is too crazy and all over the place for Ed. *is shot by Romi fans* Yes, Ed is more childish in Brotherhood, but I still would rather hear Vic. I don’t know why, but perhaps it’s because I saw the english dub first and didn’t read the manga. We have to remember that a lot of our views revolve around what we saw/read first. I absolutely hate it when I’m told “The manga came first, therefore it is best”. One isn’t better than the other. It’s all about what we feel in love with first.

As for the whole Aaron thing, I completely understand why he’s not taking the role of Al. I’ve known about it for a while now. It’s not surprising. I just hope the new actor will do a good job. And please, no Aaron as Ling. If all of you have common sense, you wouldn’t say such a thing. That’s just not Aaron. Ling’s totally out of his range. At the moment, the only character I can see Aaron playing is Selim.

I’m glad the actors for Roy, Maes, Havoc, Lust, and Envy are the same. I don’t think I could survive without them. I wouldn’t mind a different voice for Winry, because she seems to be a tad more “girlish” in the brotherhood series. I love Caitlin Glass, but I can’t see her playing Winry this time.

Also, does anyone know if Chris Patton will be playing Greed again? I hope he does.

( *sigh* This took longer than I thought it would…)

    Kariya Yoshida on says:

I guess I’m pretty happy about the casting roles they’ve chosen. I can’t wait ’till next summer to hear what the voices for the characters that weren’t in the first anime will sound like.  Especially Ling and Ran Fan. Hopefuly they won’t have a VA with a fake chinese accent.

Anyways. Let’s just hope that they use most of the voices from the original, but, I don’t think I like the idea of having Wendy play Envy again just because I’ve already gotten used to how he sounds in the japanese version.

    SpiderSlayr on says:

@Jay: I agree. Ed having a female voice actor with a higher-pitched voice would better match Brotherhood’s art style. Imo, that’s why Romi will be the better known voice actor as Ed in Brotherhood. Vic is a better “serious” Ed while Romi is a better “comedic” Ed, which is what Brotherhood is more of then the first series. The only thing though is that FUNimation would never, and I repeat NEVER do that. I can’t even imagine how many Vic fangirls would start sending FUNi angry e-mails and threats of boycotting the series. Doesn’t really matter though. Vic will still do a good job, but I just think that it’ll get awkward when the chibi parts of the series start to pop up.

In fact, the art style is pretty much the only reason why I thought Aaron could return as Al. In Brotherhood, Al’s art style is seriously detailed in contrast to the first series. Spoiler ▼

However, it seems that FUNi would rather commit suicide than have a teenager in a teenage role. Maxey was a better decision, but if they were going for total fan service with Brotherhood which is what they’re currently doing, it couldn’t have hurt.

    nightastronomer on says:

Finally! Someone gets it! Thank you,SpiderSlayr! That’s why Romi Paku CHOSE Vic to play ed in the first series. :-)  And trust me,if FUNimation replaced Vic with another voice actor……….let’s just use the old saying: If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

    kittiwitti on says:

I am so happy that Laura Bailey is coming back as Lust. I loved her voice as Lust, since it was so eerie and mysterious.
Of course I am thrilled that half of the voice acters are coming back for this new season. My only disappointment is Scar. I loved Scar’s voice–_– I hope the new voice actor will be dark, gruff, and serious.
As for Winry’s I am also happy since, the Japanese Winry annoyed me with her high pitched voice. Definitely Caitlin will fill the greatest void. Envy-Wendy, that is a 100 percent my fave next with Edward.
I cannot wait for the english version. Hopefully the dubbed will succeed like the previous time.

    Momo on says:

There are so many rumors about what role Aaron will get personally I hope its Ling because him as Selim….he’s to old for the role of such a young child
Selim is like how old in the manga like 12 or 13 and evil
