Gunslinger Girl – Il Teatrino hits Home on Sony’s PlayStation Network

Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino on PlayStation Home

Survey says a good amount of you are PS3 users.  So for those of you who fall into this category, I have a special announcement.  For the first time ever, Sony is screening anime in their Home Theater.

Sony will be screening episode one of Gunslinger Girl – Il Teatrino in their PlayStation Home Theater from 9/3 until 9/10. The episode will run continuously 24 hours a day so you can stop in anytime and watch it.  Can’t manage to find the time between work and school to get in some movie watching?  Then just download the first episode FREE for viewing at a later date, but do it soon because it’ll only be free until 9/17.

This is just the start of more anime being featured on PlayStation Network.  Keep an eye out for more in the near future.

This is cool and all, but what would be simpler is to just use the PS3’s web browser.  Unless Home offers some bells and whistles (wouldn’t know, don’t think it’s worth downloading/installing) I’m not sure why people would do that rather than stream it right from your video portal via the system’s built-in browser.  But it spreads the word more, so, whatever.  Good for you guys, and thanks for doing all this.

I would think that using the Playstation Network vs a browser would give you higher quality video with faster playback. I’ve never used the PSN, so that’s just speculation on my part..

You people might have one more PS3 user.  Only because these circus clowns over at Sony have no reason to force everyone to pay $600 anymore.

True Story:  I was on my way to Target when I noticed a line of Asian-Americans camping out in front of the store.  I asked them if they were going to sell it on eBay for twice the amount, and one of them went “Hell Yeah!”

Or was it the Wii or the XBox 360?  One of those gigantic paperweights.  I mainly have them for the 2D fighter games.  Oh well…  ”Anime about little orphan girls being given a home and some guns.”   :P

Is there any way you can hype this up to PS3 users who may not view this website more?  Like AnimeNewsNetwork.com or actually on PSN itself.  If I didn’t wander into Funimation.com, I might have missed this, and this is a show I’m excited about!  I’d love to see this before buying it, so I can’t wait to check it out!

Let’s hope more anime gets screened in the PSHome theatre. I would really like to see Viz Media do this with Bleach, and with you guys at FUNimation Entertainment with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

actually the streaming quality for videos viewed inside PS Home is pretty good; they have a decent player there because I have seen very little stutter in the playback.  I think that preview via Home is a great idea for both funimation and sony.
I just want to say “Thanks” to funimation for all the great content available online too.

I wasn’t into Gunslinger Girl nor Gunslinger Girl IL: Teatrino, but after watching it in the PSHome Theatre, I liked it and I’m now interested. Also when does the free episode hit the Playstation Store?

    Henrietta on says:

Good news for ps3 owners… This is okk… Not better than the first by far, the animation in this season is not better than the first. I think the story is a little better but the first was more in detail with each gunslinger girl. This season your not really following Henrietta but Treaila instead. But still a must see!!!
