Welcome to FUNimation’s first ever live online industry panel. Please submit your questions and comments below. All items will be screened before posting and/or answered, so you will only need to submit once. As I said, this is our first attempt at this so bear with us. Please leave us your feedback in the comments section after the event is over.
Two general rules to keep things productive:
1. Keep it clean. If you are asking something you shouldn’t, it won’t get posted and we won’t answer it.
2. You can skip all the, “Is FUNimation going to license (insert anime name or sequel for anime name here)?” We can’t answer any of these questions since we can’t say what we have licensed until, well, we announce we licensed it.

This was pretty cool (I wish I could have seen it live). The only problems I see is that it wasn’t edited very well. For instance, why am I hearing “We’ll edit the lag time out.” The meaning of that sentence is contradicted by me hearing it.
Can’t wait for Soul Eater and Eden of the East! Hope I see this sort of thing again in the future.

I personally was really tired when watching live, but had to say I’m glad there wasn’t hugely long/awkward questions, a lot of decent questions were asked and it was a hugely fun/entertaining live event. I know some people were upset their questions wernt answered but to say it was bad or whatever isn’t fair on Adam/Rojas.
I can’t wait to attend more lol

Man, what have you guys done to this thread? *grimaces at Tyrenol, Chrisc, and Mario1-7* Well, at least now that the whining and crying has stopped, I can bring up the merch that was shown on the virtual panel–I really want to make Anime USA, but it doesn’t look like it because of lack of $$$ and maybe another commitment to be announced. The AoD IRC channel laughed when you showed the Ouran wallet…that’s one trippy wallet, but cool-looking. I’d really want to get one of those Soul Eater keychains…a certain chara looked so kawaii!

) and friends talked about the anime they could bring to the US as oppose to showing off merchandise on the side and such.
That’s the main reason why I like FUNi; some of the anime it has and could get.

But they said they can’t talk about shows that they could license until they actually have the license to them. Something to do with contracts and stuff and things that may or may not work out, I thought they made that clear to people before the con thing.
Anyways loved the merchandise stuff. I know I said before but please show more if you do another con thing.

Oh and I had no idea Rojas’s name was pronounced Rohas.. I always assumed it was Roh Jas or something lol

I believe it went well. I just hope that they can go into more details on what shows are going to be brodcast on tv(AS, SYFY, IFC, CN, etc) I hope you guys over at fun resque sequals to show you guys pick up from geneon (shakugan no shana, when they cry, familiar of zero, ect) i mean i bought them thinking i would be able to see the series in a whole not half way. thxs for listening to your fans FUN!!

Just got to watch the videos for this. A number of cool moments and items and a few “okay, that’s a tad unsettling” ones.
Love those advertising cards, especially the Baccano one. Love Lua and Ladd. I collect those cards. Nice to hear about more Blu-Ray even if I don’t have a player/PS3 yet and to know the reasoning behind fewer extras (fans wanted fast and cheap, now you know why maybe that’s not always good!)
Kinda find that Dragon Box version of Dragon Ball Z comment of it being for the hardcore fans with the English dub as a “bonus” to be unsettling. I do not want Funimation thinking along these lines as there lies the path of sub-only releases.
Good to know more con appearances are in the future. Didn’t think that rumor was true. Also great to know there is some broadcast deals in talks. Tell us who to write letters to!
God I would kill for a BECK soundtrack with the English dub version songs clean and in full.

Looking forward to My Bride is a Mermaid. Excellent to hear that the box sets for When They Cry is doing well. I need more Higurashi! Please get the second season Funi! Great to start from scratch for Initial D, Tokyopop did not please fans with that one. Interesting numbers for dubbing 3-4 months and up to 1 year.
Boo, no Oscar nomination for Eva. Great to hear that the theatrical release did well. (If you want a movie to release, get the Nanoha movie when it comes out!)
Hurry on the Soul Eater episodes! (Not surprised to hear there are internal issues slowing things down.)

Can I buy a Rin shot glass? I don’t think I’m going to be getting to a con any time soon. Damn that box set sounds awesome. Oh, awesome to hear that Kenichi is doing great and hope that Big Windup is doing well.

Aside from answering more indepth questions and skipping the totally pointless ones (Autobots vs. Decepticons and Mac vs. PC? Only if there is an anime Funi’s involved with that these are important to) I think this virtual con was great! Granted I missed the live version but still, I think it was very interesting and there was some valuable information in there.

1) If fans like us would want to work for you in the future, how can we break into the industry? How could we get a job? Do you offer internships? (whether it’s voice acting, ADR directing, editors, etc.- any job you offer) I would love to work for you guys, but I don’t know what I should study or how to go about at it.
2) When is My Bride is a Mermaid coming out? I know you licensed it back in February, but I noticed that some titles you licensed before that are getting a release.
