First, I want to thank everyone who made it, our tried to make it, to our first virtual panel last week.  It was a lot of fun for us and we learned alot about what to do the next time we try something like this.  Now, moving on to this week’s fun.

Halloween is not even two weeks away and over a Homestar Runner Halloween special marathon I thought it would be a great idea to run though some possible costumes of a few FUNimation characters.  But talking about Luffy going as Captain Jack Sparrow or Kenichi going as the Karate Kid is way too easy.  I’m thinking more about costumes you didn’t see coming.  Like Shin Chan as Wicket the Ewok or Afro Samurai as J.J. from the show ‘Good Times’.

So here are a few we came up with.  Would love to see some comments on what not-so-normal costumes for your favorite anime character you can think of.  Enjoy!

Piccolo as a Pickle

He’s saved the earth and trained great warriors, but is he ready to be part of the $9.95 Souper Salad lunch special? The upside to this is that he is now a healthy alternative for a cookie.  The downside is that even Yamcha could take him in a fight.  But heck, it may be worth it to get a sweet theme song like this.

Evangelion Unit 01 as Gundam RX-78-2

Purple is so last year and once you’ve saved one human race from total annihilation, you’ve saved them all.  This Eva Unit is looking to try and walk in another man’s mech’s shoes.  All I know is if I open the door on Halloween night and I see a gundam asking for a snickers bar, I’m tossing out all the gin in the house.

D’eon DeBaumont as Eddie Izzard

D’eon, taking a break from unearthing the mystery of his sisters death and doing the King of France’s bidding, decided to go out for a few candy apples on the night of All Hallows Eve.  This doesn’t mean you can’t do that in style naturally.  And who doesn’t know more about going out to have a good time while staying stylish in your own…special way, than British comedian Eddie Izzard.  What is better than saying trick or treat? Well that would be cake or death?

Tamaki as Ryan Seacrest

When you are at the top of your game in looks, charm, and money where do you go from there?  O the elite, it must be a tough life.  Well if everything is just perfect, you want to try something a bit different at your same level.  So it makes total sense that Tamaki would want to go out to all the gala parties on Halloween night dressed as Ryan Seacrest.  If you think about it, its almost as if they were the same person from different dimensions.  Very, very odd.  Seacrest out.

Soul as the magic flute from H.R. Puff ‘n’ Stuff

The world that Soul lives in can pretty much be Halloween 24/7 so how do you enjoy the evening when the actual holiday comes around?  Simple, take it easy.  A night of getting away from the killing and the fighting can be great, especially if he’s going out as a nice relaxing and mello magic flute.  If he can float over to the world of H.R. Puff ‘n’ Stuff, where all they do is pretty much sing and dance in puppet costumes, may just be the vacation he’s been needing.
