VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (11/6)

As I mentioned in a previous post, Spice and Wolf was pushed back to start on Wed, 11/11 instead of today on Comcast VOD. We encountered some gremlins in the system. We should be back on track with those new eps. I know lots of you folks have been waiting to catch a glimpse of the series.

But we do have some other titles appearing today on Comcast VOD. Here’s the rundown:

Movies and Events —–> FUNimation Anime (PPV VOD)

The Cutting Edge —–> FUNimation Anime (FREE VOD)

I know you guys want to see FUNimation Channel linear network on your cable and satellite system. We are always working to make that happen. I’ll have another post next week talking about some changes to the Comcast VOD menu and changes overall on how to access FUNimation Anime On Demand. I’ve read viewer comments about the current programming available on the linear network. Next week, I’ll drop a tiny hint on what we plan to do for 2010. :wink:

But in the meantime, you can access the 24/7 network schedule and see when your favorite series is on.

    The same things from the PPV VOD are in both “Movies and Events” and “The Cutting Edge” and none of the free ones are present. It might be Kansas City’s Comcast station’s problem.

    None of the Funimation stuff, both free and PPV were updated this for Comcast in Nashville.

    @ndv1 – Comcast is going through a national system-wide change on their VOD platform. I will have a post next week explaining this but basically, both free and ppv VOD will be found in one place.
    If nothing shows up by Wed, drop me another comment. BTW, are you looking in the Cutting Edge category/FUNimation Anime? Thanks.

    @James

    It most likely is Kansas City Comcast’s system. There’s a system-wide change happening nationally so there will be server hiccups in some cities.

    Yes,  looking under Cutting Edge category/Funimation Anime.  Just letting you know that nothing updated this week.  Don’t want a repeat of what happened last time.

    Hey, checked on Wed. and still none of the episode that were supposed to be updated on 11/6/2009 for both the free and PPV were listed under Cutting Edge/Funimation folder.

    @ndv1 – Can you tell me if the Movies & Events section is still there on the menu or has it changed to read Movies? And could you confirm if you are Nashville or Knoxville? Want to make sure before I speak to operations. The menus are all switching over for all channels so each city headend is being affected by this change. I want to make sure that assets for FUNimation Anime were all sent to the Cutting Edge section. Thanks.

    The Movies & Events Folder is still there and there is still a Funimation folder listed.  I’m in Nashville, TN.

    @ndv1 – Thanks for the update. It looks like Comcast Nashville is trying to get their VOD servers ready for the switchover. I’m waiting for Comcast Nashville’s response about missed assets from Friday of last week.

    I’m sorry if this doesn’t belong here. I combed the web for the right place to post this, and this seemed like the most relevant place. I think you’re doing a great job with the Funimation channel on Comcast, and I know there have been much more seroius problems with the programming, but I just wanted to mention that Fruits Basket Ep. 16 never made it onto the VOD menu. I only mention it because episodes 17 and 18 are now up, and it’s my very favorite show right now.

    @pohpoki – Thanks for your kind comments. There have been a lot of changes happening at Comcast (technically and news-wise). Last month, Comcast changed their VOD menu look completely and titles didn’t make it in the transition. Sadly, Fruits Basket ep 16 didn’t get re-pitched to Chicago and Washington because of it. We’ll try to re-air the series some time next year.
