Fullmetal Alchemist – Brotherhood: Episode 42

Can you believe we’re already up to episode 42 for FMA – Brotherhood?  It seems like just yesterday that we started streaming the series.  Have you seen all the episodes to date?  Honestly, I haven’t and have some catching up to do. Maybe I should just clear a weekend and veg out on FMAB episodes.  It’s embarrassing when someone talks FMA to me and I’m like, “Uhh… I dunno.”  And then they’re like, “But you work at FUNimation!”  Though, there’s not enough hours in the day to watch all our content, so I guess I’ll just have to deal.

What would you say your average weekly anime intake is?

Out of all the concurrent pro-moe, anti-shounen, animu crappage that’s aimed towards the hardliner otaku-tachi; isn’t it a shame that FMA is one of the few anime that can make noise in the West without going viral (like Haruhi)?

I ain’t a fan of this show; but think about it: A guy with a robotic arm, his robot brother, and some soldier calling out for “tiny miniskirts” on female soldiers… That’s all easier for people to root for than some [censored] who kicks guys in the face.

I think that’s because FMA aired on TV in America, and like Death Note attracted a legion of fanboys/girls. That’s probably why it makes a lot of noise lol

I’m actually in the mid-to-late-30-eps right now…

I had an FMA burnout in November, and held off from the anime and the manga for a couple months. I’m currently watching 2 episodes a week until I catch up… so I don’t burn out again. Olivier is KICK.ASS. I love her so much.

I usually do all my online anime watching on Saturdays, right now I’m checking out:

    Tegami Bachi
Sgt Frog (at least I was until the sub eps stopped… now I’m watching my box sets while waiting for more. XD)
One Piece simulcast + new dub eps
    Gundam 00
Durarara! (Talk to your licensing guys. Please. This is from the same author who wrote Baccano. It’s AWESOME.)
    Pokemon
…and that’s it… I think. Oh, started checking out Oh! Edo Rocket as well. Loving that show.

And then on the weekdays, I watch a few eps from some of my DVD collection. Once I finish S1P2 of Sgt Frog, it’s onto Spice and Wolf! (and then Nabari no Ou, followed by His and Her Circumstances.)

    Fate on says:

The Tower of Druaga would be perfect for Adult Swim, but it doesn’t have a following really, so it’l never happen.

My weekly Anime intake? I couldn’t tell you honestly. With so many show to watch with you all Funi and others as well. I haven’t seen too much of Brotherhood either so don’t feel bad.

I’ve only seen half of the first episode of Brotherhood. I don’t think I’m a huge fan of the series anymore :|

For weekly anime intake, it’s been a very slow winter. Durarara!! is the only streaming show that I look forward to watch on Fridays.

Don’t feel bad Rojas, I’m terribly far behind too. Oh well, with the dub airing on [adult swim], I’ll just catch up with my fave English cast. (Hail to the Vic baby!)

Average weekly anime intake? Hmm, I’d say around 30 episodes a week, give or take. I try to watch a disc a day. This week’s been in overdrive though, I’ll probably have watched 50+ by Saturday.

My weekly is whenever I get a chance. I’m waiting on the Eureka Seven movie to come out. I watch up to episode 4 of Bamboo Blade and 5 of Nabari No Ou, I’m about to finish Shuffle out then watch Mobile Suit Z Gundam for the first time.

So how’s that Aaron Dismuke kid doing?

I guess I’ll answer your question, Rojas: I’ve been trying to cut down on anime since this winter.

    Becca on says:

My weekly anime intake varies. Of course it always includes the newest FMA:Brotherhood episode; can’t wait for the dub to come out so I can hear my favorite cast again! I probably watch more anime in a week than I should, but hey, I’m unemployed right now, so I might as well get the anime viewing in while I have the extra time. Sometimes I like to get behind on anime episodes so I can watch them all in a row instead of waiting a week in between.

    Danji on says:

So, I’m psych for the new FMA:B dub coming out next weekend. My weekly intake of anime is worse than anyone else. I get 0-2 episodes a week. I really can’t with college.

    J on says:

I only concentrate on one anime series at a time, manga a read a whole load of usually though, like three series at once. had a load of college work recently though on top of exams so the only thing I’ve been watching is brotherhood as soon as it comes on the net… xD

I’m half looking forward to the dub half not, my parents want to watch it to see what all the fuss is about which is awesome as we’ll probably have in depth discussions about it which is immense since no one likes anime around here but me and a friend who won’t watch past an episode if it’s going “bad” for the main characters – which is actually pretty lame.

Yeah, my parents like the same type of things I do! :nyu:

The other part of my not looking forward to it is that I know the English cast won’t do it justice IMHO, shame my folks can’t cope with subtitles darn old age and bad eyesight…

    WOOT on says:

As far as I know, I think theres going to be at least 52 episodes. Heres a link
    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10216&page=25
They probably WILL stop at 52 since the manga is looking like its about to end (NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ). So unless they do some filler after the manga ends, then Brotherhood is more than likely gonna end at 52….unfortunately :(

    xelnaca on says:

Current FMAB episode 47 is I’d say 3 episodes away from catching to the manga. So, theres going some delays from now on. Especially considering the manga is released 1 episode a month.
