VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL

It’s going to be a busy day.

Let’s start off with a little live action, bloody goodness.  Another must see for fans of TOKYO GORE POLICE, THE MACHINE GIRL, and ROBOGEISHA.

FUNimation Acquires VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL

VAMPIRE GIRL VS FRANKENSTEIN GIRL was directed by Naoyuki Tomomatsu and Yoshihiro Tomomatsu, the dark minds that brought you cult classics like TOKYO GORE POLICE, THE MACHINE GIRL, and ROBOGEISHA.  The film premiered worldwide at the 2009 NY Asian Film Festival where it won the prestigious Audience Award.  Since then it has screened all over the world including the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

VAMPIRE GIRL VS FRANKENSTEIN GIRL begins a series of screenings at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa, Canada starting tonight, followed by screenings on April 15 and April 16.  Next week, The Nashville Independent Film Festival will present a late night screening of VAMPIRE GIRL VS FRANKENSTEIN GIRL on April 20.

About VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL

Valentine’s Day turns twisted for Mizushima after the vampire schoolgirl Monami gives him a chocolate laced with vampire blood.  One bite of the delicious sweet infects him with immortality. This does not sit well with Mizushima’s jealous girlfriend Keiko. She wants him all to herself.  A bloody battle between the two women ends with Keiko falling to her death.  To her luck, Keiko’s mad scientist father reanimates her into an undead Frankenstein girl.  Now on a level playing field, the undead damsels fight for the heart of Mizushima.

FUNimation Entertainment will release the film on DVD and Blu-ray October 2010.

And here I was; about to lose all hope due to the lot of the crap Japan’s entertainment industry makes.

“Sparkling Vampire” meets “the gift that keeps on giving” meets “Franken-With-Benifits.” 8) Way To Go!

Maybe we should start calling y’all FUNive-action, eh? Eh? Eh? *elbows*

I’ll be looking forward to more anime releases and I hope these live-action films have enough of an audience that y’all don’t lose too much money on them. 8)

@ Justin T. Poindexter: ” i am starting to get bored with same old voice actors in their anime..

Greg Ayers said something about “selling their talents.” There seems to be no such thing as “job security” in voice-acting either. :?

For me; it’s not the problem of the same voice acting people. It’s the sad fact that you have one person doing voices for 5 different characters. I mean… Professionalism, yes. But doesn’t that hurt after a while? :?:

Another live action that my friends and I can’t wait to see. We saw Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police. Love them to death. If this is even close to those films, it will be a blast to watch.

I can see everyone’s point as far as having a different site for live action, because it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Yet I do feel the reasoning for this may be it might to try and interest people in these titles. Not every anime is for everyone because everyone has different tastes. However, if there is a live action that may be similar to an anime or genre of your interest, you might want to check it out. By separating the two into different catergories, or websites, it may make these titles not be known to some. The reason is because we will only come to the site which interests us, not giving the other a chance. I for one, was not really into live action films, but a friend introduced me to a few titles and I been watching them since. I would find myself coming to the anime site over the live action any day of the week.

I only recently started viewing the Funimation blogs after sending an email to them in regards to a possible release of Gonzo’s Rosario+Vampire, and they sent me this link instead. Since then I have been following the releases, and even purchased a few titles, ones that originally I may not have picked up but caught my eye. My only question so far is…Is Robo Geisha already on DVD? My friends and I been wanting to see that since we heard it was in theaters in Japan.
