iTunes & FUNimation Bring Free Anime to Fan Expo

Our wonderful friends at iTunes are once again partnering with FUNimation Entertainment to bring you more free anime.  This is a special exclusive just for our Canadian fans. Yes, Canada, we do love you too.

Now, just how do you get this tasty anime?  Attend Fan Expo this weekend August 27 – 29 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. iTunes will be handing out thousands of promo cards (see below) in and around the convention.  This is the largest fan gathering in Canada so we’re super pleased to be working with iTunes to get more free anime to you.

Quantities are limited, so be sure to show up to Fan Expo early and get one of the collectible cards before they run out.  You won’t want to miss out on getting access to the FUNimation Anime Sushi Sampler, a free pack of anime that includes the first episodes of Ouran HSHC, Afro Samurai, Samurai Champloo, Soul Eater and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.  The card will allow you to download these episode straight to your iPod, iPad, iPhone, or whatever iTunes compatible device of your choosing. Not going?  Click here to check out the Fan Expo page on iTunes for more great content.

With the FUNimation Anime Sushi Sampler, Canadian fans can get a taste of the finest anime from Japan all on one plate.

this just an American fan guessing at what Canadians want but I think they would much rather want the hulu portal to mirror the youtube portal. since that is why they think that you don’t love them for the most part.

Don’t suppose by any chance some FUNi rep there recorded the panels of Vic Migogna and Jamie Marchi?

If so can you upload the videos to the portal?

Maybe Funimation can do this more often in the future?

e.g. The Comic-Con Panel with Chris Sabat, Sean Schemmel and Justin Cook.

Not everyone goes to Cons but might want to see the panels.

It’s great that you’re showing some love to Canadians…in Toronto, but you really should spread the love out a bit too…to maybe Vancouver. Nevermind free stuff, you didn’t even bring anything for us to buy at Anime Evolution in Vancouver T_T. Adam and Todd were awesome though. Do visit us more often!

You Americans aren’t missing anything – the episodes are dubbed, so it’s totally worthless. FYI – Canadians are literate and can handle hearing a spoken language other than English. Toronto is the most multicultural city in Canada, if not the world, after all. If you’re going to do any freebies in the future, make sure they’re appropriate for the target audience (otaku, who by and large prefer Japanese with English subtitles).

Thanks for the Afro Samurai episode in the original language though. Too bad the other four were the epic fail usually associated with Funimation.
