FUNimation to Release FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS

Flower Mound, TX (May 21, 2011) – FUNimation ® Entertainment has acquired the second film based on the popular Fullmetal Alchemist franchise, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS (also known as Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Sei naru Hoshi), which is set to premiere in Japan on July 2nd, 2011.

Longtime partner Aniplex, Inc. has awarded the U.S. theatrical, home entertainment, digital and broadcast rights to the animated feature-length film to American distributor FUNimation.

The movie is produced by studio BONES and directed by Kazuya Murata.

FUNimation will release the English dub version of FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS in theaters in early 2012 and on DVD and Blu-ray in the Spring.

Famed J-rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel will perform the theme song for the movie. Their song “READY STEADY GO” had been the opening theme song for the smash-hit TV animation series “FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST” in 2004, and “Link” was the theme song for the “FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa” in 2005.

    Not much of a surprise that they licensed the movie, but I can’t wait for it to come out in english.
    Please, please, if it’s shown in theatres…can it be shown in New Jersey? That would be amazing!

    This is awesome news to hear for one of the best ground breaking anime’s out there! I know this may be much to ask but would there be a possible way for the FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS movie to play in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada at Silver City/Cineplex? Please make it possible for the fans and me, it would mean a lot.

    I so can’t wait for the North American release of Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Stars of Milos. I saw several trailers of the movie and I think that it’s gonna be the best anime movie yet to hit theaters everywhere in the USA. I’m alaso an anime freak so, if there is anythink about of related to it. I’ll know about it. Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood is my number omne favorite anime besides Case Closed.

    Will this play in Massachusetts? I really hope so since I’m in love with Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I don’t want to have to use Youtube because it would be in parts, and there would most likely be ads.

    Screw the side story of fma DUB ONE PIECE INSTEAD I AM SERIOUS YOU HAVE 300 BLOODY EPISODES TO GO and fullmetal gets a new movie and cowboy bebop which is a better anime in the first place with better movies doesn’t. No seriously this is just filler the ending of brotherhood was awesome.
