Award season is upon us and it’s time once again for the yearly anime popularity contest. That’s right, who will win big, and who will walk away with the shame of “Miss Congeniality”? You decide.
About.com is taking nominations for their Readers’ Choice Awards until February 11th. They have a wide variety of categories from favorite anime releases, re-releases, streaming services, etc. Five finalists from each category will be selected by Anime.About.com and will advance to the final round of voting.
The final voting phase is where you come into play. You, and others like you, will pick from the top five in each category. This voting period will run from Feb. 19th – Mar. 19th. Winners will be announced Mar. 27th.
Here are the categories:
- Best New Anime of 2012 on DVD/BD
- Best New Anime of 2012 on Streaming/Download
- Best Anime Reissue in 2012 (Any Format)
- Best Anime Distributor of 2012 (Is there even a question?)
- Best Streaming/Download Service of 2012
