Wolf Children Screening at the New York International Children’s Film Festival

If you’ve been impatiently waiting to see Wolf Children, the critically acclaimed movie from director Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars) then you’ll be pleased to know that the English subtitled version will be screening this March at the New York International Children’s Film Festival.

Tickets are on sale now. See below for screening times and information. Director Mamoru Hosoda will be in attendance at a few of these screenings, and some showings may also receive limited 11×17 Wolf Children posters.

From the visionary, award-winning creator of Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Mamoru Hosoda, comes a beautiful tale of love and triumph. 19 year old Hana finds herself falling in love with a wolf-man and over the years becomes the mother of two half wolf/ half human children. Ame, born on a rainy day and Yuki, born in the snowy winter must move with their mother to a rural town to hide the secret of their mysterious lineage.

If you weren’t able to get a ticket to the sold out screenings at the NYICFF on March 9th and 10th, then you have another chance to see the movie. There will be a special screening of Wolf Children at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on March 14th at 7pm.

The showing is free and open to the public. The film will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles, followed by a Q/A with director Mamoru Hosoda. A limited number of Wolf Children posters and copies of the Summer Wars DVD will be available as a giveaway for attendees. For more details, click here.
