FUNimation acquires rights to Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist

FUNimation Entertainment announced today, that they have acquired the home video and digital distribution rights to the recently released, hit web series Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist. While FUNimation will be handling distribution in the United States and Canada through their Giant Ape live action label, they are working with international distributors Manga Entertainment and Madman Entertainment, who will be distributing Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist in the United Kingdom and Australia, respectively.

 

Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist was released as a 12 episode web series by Machinima, the number-one global video entertainment network for young males, on May 23, 2014. Since its release, the series has received millions of views, along with praise from entertainment and games media alike. FUNimation Entertainment will be releasing Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist as a 143 minute, feature-length film – which will contain 13 minutes of exclusive bonus footage not seen in the web series. Fans can also look forward to receiving loads of extra features; including behind-the-scenes clips, interviews with the cast and crew, deleted scenes, and much more.
