Conventions 2016 – Going Big at Anime Expo 2016

We’re heading to Anime Expo, the largest North American anime convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center, on July 1st-4th and we’re bringing heroes, singers, parties, and big announcements! We’re bringing a bunch of Funimation staff for this one, including Justin, Lauren, Tara, and Godswill, and you can be sure that we’ll have a full schedule that you can check out below:

In this special engagement, we have the Director (Kenji Nagasaki) and Producer (Wakana Okamura) of My Hero Academia as well as two voice actors of the English dub, Christopher R. Sabat (All Might) and Justin Briner (Deku), on stage to do a Q&A, show behind-the-scenes, give out prizes, and overall celebrate the recent hit of My Hero Academia!


At Anime Expo, we’re pulling out the stops with 3 separate booths plus a cosplay set! We’ll be selling Blu-rays & DVDs, hosting meet and greets, taking photos, and more! Be sure to see below for all the goodies we have planned as well as our locations.

Also within the Exhibit Hall is our Photo Booth. There we’ll have special backdrops just for taking pictures with Funimation-specific anime scenarios and characters! And we’ll even be providing free physical and digital pictures right on-site. Be sure to check in periodically to take pictures with various mascot characters!

Also at the Photo Booth, you can get yourself free Anime Expo-exclusive My Hero Academia 3″ pins! Just take our quick 4-question survey to get one! But be sure to get there early, as there will be a limited number of pins given out each day!

In the South Hall Lobby, you can find another booth of ours near Registration (see the map above)! There, we are giving free swag out each day and we’re treating FunimationNow subscribers to special free goodies just for sticking with us! We’re giving out free exclusive shirts to subscribers and sunshades for non-subscribers.

CLASSROOM COSPLAY SET – West Hall A: Entertainment Hall

Finally you can find another cosplay-specific room in the Entertainment Hall of West Hall ADo you have a cosplay that goes along perfectly with a classroom? Maybe you’re cosplaying from Assassination Classroom or My Hero Academia? Well we have exactly what you need! Right by the Cosplay Repair Center, we’re setting up a replica classroom that goes well with any school cosplay.
