Don’t panic, this is not the effect of a Geass. The essential 4+ hour Code Geass OVA series, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, is finally coming to home video with a special release! We’ve got a sneak peek of what’s in store for our anime shop.
Directed by Kazuki Akane (Vision of Escaflowne) and once again featuring original character designs by CLAMP, Akito the Exiled ties together Season 1 and Season 2 (R2) of the Code Geass series, with a new story set in the Europian theater of Britannia’s war.
While the protagonists Akito and Leila may be new to the series, don’t fret, veteran Code Geass fans—some very familiar faces make appearances that you won’t want to miss. (We’ll just leave it at that to avoid spoilers.) And if you’re a fan of Code Geass’s signature mech battles, high drama, insane plot twists, and fabulous characters, Akito the Exiled has all of that in spades, with quite possibly the coolest action scenes the franchise has to offer so far.
This release will be available as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack featuring a special silver radiant burst holofoil slipcover. Check out our animated preview of the cover—it’s a special effect that really catches the light!
Included in the release is a handsome pearlescent envelope that holds 10 gorgeous watercolor style art cards, from the original Japanese release.
