Deku All Might S4

I started watching MHA during the summer of 2018. At the same time I was also training to run my 2nd marathon. Previously I had a finishing time of 4 hours and 36 min. My goal after that was to finish under 4 hours. Around the time of June/July (I live in LA) temperatures got pretty high and made running outdoors very uncomfortable. I suffered tremendously and wanted to quit multiple times. MHA gave me the motivation to keep on pushing. Anytime I heard all might say “You can be a hero” to Deku. It was like I was being told that I too can run and reach my goals. Fast forward to March 24th, 2019. The day of the LA marathon, I finished in 3 hours 55 min. My next goal now is to qualify for the Boston marathon. None of what I did or doing now what’ve been possible had I never watched the show.

from Gerry

First of all, thank you so much for writing in, Gerry! We want to congratulate you on this awesome accomplishment, and we’re so happy to hear that My Hero Academia helped you push yourself to go beyond.

It’s this motivation and determination that truly shines in the series, through characters like Deku, All Might, Ochaco and Iida. These are characters living in a super-powered world, yet they’re still trying to be the best that they can be. As we keep following these characters’ journeys, we hope that you’ll continue to push toward your goal! Best of luck in qualifying for the Boston Marathon and keep being PLUS ULTRA!

Do you think deku is like an anime Spider-Man if so how is he like spider man (Peter Parker)

from Nigel

Hi Nigel! Thanks for the great question. While Deku and Peter Parker are certainly on different paths when it comes to their place in a superhero society, they really do have a lot in common.

Both of them base their heroic efforts around a positive role model. For Deku, that’s All Might. For Peter, that’s Aunt May. Sure, Uncle Ben played a big part in Peter’s early life, but May is what keeps him pushing to be better every day.

We’ve also seen both Deku and Peter struggle with newfound abilities. Deku goes from being a boy without a Quirk to becoming a host for One For All. Peter is a normal kid, until he gets crazy spider powers. There’s a bit of a rough patch as they get used to their abilities, but they ultimately right the ship and set lofty goals for themselves.

We could go on and on. Truth is, it’s character traits like these that help us relate to shows like My Hero Academia and characters like Spider-Man. Yes, plenty of people have superpowers, but these heroes in training are really just like us. As far as being anime Spider-Man, that position belongs to Peni Parker.

Tsuyu My Hero

Tsuyu is literally the all-time best. Don’t question me. She just is.

from Ben

OK Ben, you win. Froppy forever.

bakugo MHAS1

Is Bakugou always mad because he’s always sweating?

from Joel

Joel, thank you so much for asking the truly important questions. Unfortunately, we don’t have an official answer on this one, so all we can do is speculate.

Well, we already know that his Quirk is Explosion, the ability to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the sweat glands on the palm of his hand and make it explode. But the real focus here is that too much sweating doesn’t feel great for anyone! We’d certainly be mad if we were sweating all the time, so we can only assume the same goes for Bakugo. Wait, does Bakugo use deodorant?!

Mirio Deku MHA S4

what is the exact size of Mirios biceps??

from ryuseiblue

You know, this is a great question. If we look back through history, ancient astronaut theorists have long speculated that Mirio’s biceps could be seen from space — towering above any and all modern marvels.

Some say Mirio’s biceps have been used to forge entire solar systems. Others say they focus on the fight for others, defending biceps the world over on a regular basis.

But to truly answer your question: We’re not sure. They’re big, though.

That’s a wrap on this week’s Quirks & Questions! Thanks to everyone who wrote in. We’ll see you next week!
