Amazon Japan recently unveiled its manga sales charts based on sales from Dec. 29 – Jan. 4 and the results should make fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba very happy.
According to Anime News Network, outside of the 95th volume of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, every single volume of manga in the Top 20 for the week was a volume of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, with the upcoming 19th volume taking the number one slot.
Of the previously-released volumes, the highest ranking was the 18th at number 3, and the lowest was volume 17 in the 20th slot. Given that this is Gotouge’s first published series (after several previously published one-shots), it’s quite the accomplishment.

The success for a manga not even four years old (the series began serialization in Japan’s Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016) comes on the heels of near-universal praise for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime adaptation from studio ufotable and director Haruo Sotozaki that aired last April, running for 26 episodes.
A sequel film set during the manga’s “Infinity Train arc” is currently in development, but in the meantime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba can be streamed subbed on Funimation!
