Announced in this week’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, romance anime The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 will air October 2020, as part of the fall anime season.
A teaser video and new key visuals were also released. The announcement, according to Anime News Network, also revealed that the new season will be animated by Bibury Animation Studios (AZUR LANE, My Hero Academia) and directed by Kaori (ENDRO!).
The first season of the adaptation of Negi Haruba’s manga was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara (Black Jack, Atom The Beginning) and animated by Tezuka Productions.
The first season of The Quintessential Quintuplets aired during the Winter 2019 anime season with twelve episodes and was dubbed by Funimation.
The series follows genius high school student Futaro Uesugi (Josh Grelle), who’s fallen on some tough times: his mom is dead, he has no friends and his dad is crushed under a mountain of debt.

To make ends meet, he gets a job as a tutor for the rich but academically-disinterested Nakano sisters, five identical quintuplets. The family includes no-nonsense aspiring actress Ichika (Lindsay Seidel), abrasive Nino (Jill Harris), shy Miku (Felecia Angelle), extroverted athlete Yotsuba (Bryn Apprill) and the deceptively kind Itsuki (Tia Ballard). Futaro has his work cut out for him as hijinks — academic and romantic — ensue.
