At the end of its final episode, which aired today, BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. revealed a second season is officially being produced!
The announcement, which appeared as a teaser image at the end of the episode, did not include information about any returning staff or cast. With more info to come, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
Airing for 12 episodes and adapted from a series of light novels (that also has a manga adaptation), BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. follows Kaede (Kaede Hondo, Megan Shipman), who joins the VRMMO NewWorld Online at her friend Risa’s insistence. But with Risa (Ruriko Noguchi, Jad Saxton) grounded, Kaede, afraid of getting hurt, decides to become a Shielder and pour all her skill points into Defense. This renders her as slow as a turtle, but it also makes her character, Maple, something of a reverse tank—able to withstand punishing blows from all kinds of enemies which lets her gain amazing skills or complete dungeons solo.
