It’s time for a bit of an unplanned breather for one particular high school tutor and his lovely students. Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Futaro, Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki early next year instead of this fall as planned.

According to the series’ official Twitter, The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 has officially been delayed due to concerns related to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

In the tweet, the Kanto-based Japanese TV station TBS advised that the station would be postponing the broadcast of the second season in an effort to keep both staff and cast members safe from the continued spread of COVID-19.

But don’t fret over this new delay. There are still plenty of hijinks to be had throughout the rest of the year with the first season of The Quintessential Quintuplets. Catch up on the hilarious (and oh-so-romantic) escapades of Futaro and his five identical charges. Who said tutoring had to be dry and boring?
