Five New Cast Members Revealed for MARS RED, Coming 2021 to Funimation

They join a stacked lineup of Japanese voice actors for the upcoming series.

The cast of MARS RED, the upcoming Funimation co-production, is growing! To celebrate the latest manga volume release in Japan, we’re excited to reveal that five new actors are joining the vampire drama’s already star-studded lineup.

The new cast includes (from left to right) Fumiko Orikasa as Aoi Shirase, Hiroshi Yanaka as Sounosuke Nakajima, Ayahi Takagaki as Misaki, Sachi Kokuryu as Shinnosuke Tenmaya, and Makoto Furukawa as Rufus Glen. Misaki, Shinnosuke and Rufus are all original characters for the anime adaptation.

This new batch of Japanese voice actors joins the already-announced cast of characters, including Junichi Suwabe as Yoshinobu Maeda, Tasuku Hatanaka as Shutaro Kurusu, Kenichi Suzumura as Suwa and Akira Ishida as Takeuchi. The series is produced by Yomiuri-TV Enterprise LTD (YTE) and Funimation, and is directed by Kouhei Hatano with studio Signal.MD. MARS RED premieres in 2021 on Funimation!

MARS RED, from playwright Bun-O FUJISAWA, is the first anime to be based on a dramatic stage reading, and serves as the 50th anniversary project for YTE.
