Great news for The Promised Neverland fans just keeps on coming! The official website for the series just dropped a brand-new key visual for its upcoming second season, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what’s next!
Eagle-eyed fans can puzzle out any particular clues or teases in the new visual, which depicts a determined Emma clad in a sweater with a backpack full of goods ready to take on the wilds.
That same spirit in her eyes we came to love in Season 1 is right there on display, and we can’t wait to see her lead the kids of Grace Field House to a brighter tomorrow. Well, hopefully.
This news comes just a day after it was revealed that an additional 19-page manga chapter would debut during the upcoming “The Promised Neverland Special Exhibition” event in Tokyo this December. There’s no information on what the new chapter will contain just yet, but it’s an exciting development as the manga series wrapped up its story in June.
The Promised Neverland was adapted into an anime from Aniplex of America and CloverWorks in 2019. The second season is planned to debut in 2021. Series creators Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu recently released a special one-shot manga (unrelated to The Promised Neverland) in the form of Shinrei Shashinshi Kono Saburou, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump.
There’s no exact release date just yet for when we can catch the second season of The Promised Neverland beyond 2021, but this new look at Emma is exciting enough to spur a rewatch (or a first-time watch) if you’ve never seen the series before. You can catch up on The Promised Neverland anime right here on Funimation, subbed and dubbed.
In the meantime, it’s time to start speculating where the second season is going to take us!
