Get ready to dive back into the human body! Aniplex of America has unveiled a brand-new trailer for Cells at Work! CODE BLACK!

It looks things are going to get grim in this darker spin-off of Cells at Work!, the medical comedy anime from Akane Shimizu. And this new trailer certainly sets the scene, with CODE BLACK focused on a body affected by “drinking, smoking, stress, sleep deprivation” and the struggle to survive.

It’ll take everything the overworked cells (including Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells and Platelets) have to keep from going CODE BLACK when the series premieres in January 2021.

We also got a glimpse at the Japanese cast for the series, including Red Blood Cell, voiced by Junya Enoki (RADIANT, Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life), White Blood Cell, voiced by Yoko Hikasa (Kingdom, Listeners) and the Narrator, voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda (My Hero Academia, Fire Force). The series will be directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (STARMYU, Eureka Seven).

Cells at Work! first premiered during the Summer 2018 anime season and aired for 13 episodes. A second season of the main series has been announced for January 2021. You can catch Cells at Work!, subbed and dubbed, right here on Funimation.
