Oh, you haven’t heard? Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train is a MASSIVE hit in Japan, smashing records and continuing to climb the all-time box office in Japan. And now, it’s reached the #2 spot.
In just 45 days in theaters so far, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train has sold a whopping 20.5M tickets, earning more than $263M at the box office. That means the film has officially overtaken James Cameron’s Titanic to become the second-highest grossing film of all time in Japan. Only Spirited Away sits above it now.

The highly anticipated film follow-up to the anime series opened in Japan on October 16 in 403 theaters, easily snagging the highest-earning weekday opening ever in Japan. Since its release, it has also become the highest-grossing animated film of 2020 in the world, surpassing China’s Legend of Deification.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba– The Movie: Mugen Train, from studio ufotable, is set to hit theaters in the United States and Canada in 2021 from Funimation and Aniplex of America.

The film directly follows the events of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, based on the manga of the same name. The movie centers around Tanjiro and his friends from the Demon Slayer Corps as they investigate mysterious disappearances taking place inside a seemingly endless train!
