NEW ANIME: This January Season Enter a World Unlike Any Other on Funimation 🌐🖥️
First up, Cells at Work!! Season 2, which continues the tale of…well…you! Set inside the human body, Cells at Work!! chronicles the life and times of everything from the oxygen-carrying Red Blood Cells, to the bacteria-fighting White Blood Cells. And, of course, the dangerous viruses and villains lurking beneath the skin!

From David Production (Fire Force, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) and director Hirofumi Ogura (Black Butler), the series stars Japanese voice actors Kana Hanazawa (Durarara!!, PSYCHO-PASS) as Red Blood Cell and Tomoaki Maeno (Death Parade, Log Horizon) as White Blood Cell.
Then there’s Cells at Work! CODE BLACK, adapted from the manga spin-off of the same name. This series follows a rookie Red Blood Cell whose body is at risk of going Code Black, brought on by drinking, smoking, stress and sleep deprivation! It’s a darker, grittier tale of the human body and the forces fighting to keep it healthy.

From LIDENFILMS (The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) and director Hideyo Yamamoto (Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~), Cells at Work! CODE BLACK stars Japanese voice actors Junya Enoki (Dorohedoro, Jujutsu Kaisen) as Red Blood Cell (AA2153) and Yoko Hikasa (Danganronpa 3, High School DxD) as White Blood Cell (1196).
Both series’ simulcast begin on January 7. Both will stream on Funimation in the United States, Canada, Mexico*, Brazil*, United Kingdom and Ireland; and on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand.
*Simulcast date to be confirmed for Mexico and Brazil.
