In the fictional competitive team sport, skate-leading, teamwork and rivalry is everything. Get ready to enter the figure skating sport world in Skate-Leading Stars as it joins the Funimation January 2021 anime season lineup!
The story follows high schooler Kensei Maeshima who is swept back into the world of skating when his rival (who also led him to quit figure skating in the first place) Reo Shinozaki announces he will be competing in the team sport of skate-leading.
When Maeshima meets Hayato Sasugai, a boy who knows all about Maeshima’s time as a figure skater, he’s convinced to join skate-leading and take on Shinozaki again!
NEW ANIME: This January Season Enter a World Unlike Any Other on Funimation 🌐🖥️
The series begins its simulcast in Japan on January 10, and episodes will air on Funimation an entire two weeks before the Japanese broadcast! The series will stream on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland; on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand; and on Wakanim in France, Germany and Scandinavia.
From studio J.C.STAFF (Toradora!, Food Wars!), Skate-Leading Stars features Japanese voice actors Yuma Uchida (Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen) as Kensei Maeshima, Makoto Furukawa (Fruits Basket, Dr. STONE) as Hayato Sasugai and Hiroshi Kamiya (Attack on Titan, Kakushigoto) as Reo Shinozaki. Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass, Planetes) will serve as chief director, with Yana Toboso (Black Butler) on original character design.
