Can you believe it’s been 10 years since we were first introduced to Madoka, Homura, Sayaka and the dangers of becoming a magical girl in Puella Magi Madoka Magica?
To celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary, the official Japanese Twitter account announced the launch of a commemorative landing site for the franchise. This special page will feature an anniversary logo and new art from character designer Ume Aoki.
It will also feature celebratory images from illustrators and manga creators, and additional updates have been teased!
Puella Magi Madoka Magica took the anime world by storm and tossed the magical girl genre on its head when it debuted in winter of 2011. The series follows Madoka as she weighs becoming a magical girl after meeting the mysterious creature known as Kyubey. He’s cute, but don’t trust him.
What ensues is a magical and dangerous journey featuring witches, other magical girls and a battle to prevent the end of the world. Can you imagine dealing with that as a kid?

The anime series was followed by three films, the first two of which recap the events of the anime. Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, a spin-off of the series, premiered in 2019. A second season has been announced.
