My Hero Academia Season 5 is right around the corner, but fans have something else to look forward to this year: an official character guidebook from VIZ Media!
VIZ announced the news on Twitter Friday that they will be publishing My Hero Academia: Ultra Analysis: The Official Character Guide this fall, giving fans a chance to study up on the heroes and villains of the series in the 288-page release.
We can’t wait to feel just like Deku and his journal with this ultimate guidebook release from VIZ. We’ll definitely be checking it out.
Created by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia is an ongoing manga series with an anime adaptation that has aired for four seasons, with the fifth set for release this spring.

Set in a world where people gain superpowers called Quirks, protagonist Izuku Midoriya (or Deku) dreams of becoming a hero just like All Might, but doesn’t have a Quirk of his own. After meeting All Might and learning about his deteriorating health, Deku inherits All Might’s Quirk, One For All, and attends U.A. High School where his childhood rival, Katsuki Bakugo, attends.Â
My Hero Academia has inspired several other adaptations like video games, spin-offs, light novels and movies. It also gained popularity overseas and became a must-watch shounen anime for old and new fans alike.
Excited for the official character guidebook to release later this year? While you’re waiting, don’t forget to stream all four seasons of My Hero Academia on Funimation!Â
