Get ready, Trainers! Two new Pokémon adventures are heading your way later this year and early 2022!
During a special Pokémon 25th Anniversary “Presents” stream on Friday, The Pokémon Company announced a brand-new game: Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

This open-world adventure takes place in an early version of the Sinnoh region, as players take on the task of creating the first Pokédex. Up for grabs are starter monsters Cyndaquil, Oshawott and Rowlet, all seen in various prior generations.
The narrative will somehow revolve around the mythical Pokémon Arceus, though the details surrounding its role aren’t clear just yet. There’s a wide world to explore, with what looks like an intriguing mixture of real-time battles, as Poké Balls can be thrown at monsters on the field.
The game is set for a Nintendo Switch debut next year, though no release date has been announced just yet.
But that’s not all. The Pokémon Company also announced the Sinnoh remakes we’ve all been waiting for: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, both remakes of their respective Nintendo DS originals.
Both games are being developed by ILCA, with the company’s Yuichi Ueda and GAME FREAK’s Junichi Masuda handling directing duties. It’s been 14 years since Diamond and Pearl first debuted, so this is certainly a fun blast from the past that a whole new generation can jump into.
Like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl don’t have official release dates just yet, but they’re planned for a 2021 debut.
There’s plenty to celebrate right now if you’re a Pokémon fan. Between the upcoming Post Malone concert, all the promotions going on in current Pokémon titles, and this news, it’s a great time to jump into the Pokémon world.
