It’s official: Studio Pierrot’s Akudama Drive is Anime Trending’s Anime of the Year.
The 12-episode action-packed heist epic took home the top prize during Anime Trending’s 7th annual Anime Trending Awards, after stunning fans during the Fall 2020 season with its striking visuals and gripping narrative.
Akudama Drive, from Studio Pierrot (Naruto, Black Clover) and creator Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa), follows Ordinary, the latest addition to a ragtag group of wanted criminals known as Akudama.

But her addition is a bit of a misunderstanding, and she quickly finds herself locked in a plot that could shake the foundations of society!
With a stunning, colorful cast of characters including the bloodthirsty Cutthroat, the muscle-bound Brawler, and the cool and calculated Courier, Akudama Drive is a visual treat that impresses from start to finish.
