NEO: The World Ends with You Releases on Nintendo Switch and PS4 This July

NEO The World Ends With You

Ready to dive back into the Reapers’ Game? Square Enix has announced that NEO: The World Ends with You will officially release on July 27 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with a PC version later this summer as an Epic Games Store exclusive.

A new trailer for the game was revealed as well.

The game takes place in Shibuya and follows Rindo, who is a player in the deadly Reapers’ Game led by antagonist and Game Master, Shiba. Rindo is also joined by his teammates Fret and Nagi. Koki Kariya and Sho Minamimoto from the previous game return as well, with Minamimoto actually becoming a member of Rindo’s crew.

According to Gematsu, fans who purchase NEO: The World Ends with You from the Square Enix Store will receive DLC items in the “Reapers’ Game Survival Set” which contains three items: A unique “Mutation” pin that restores your team’s HP, the “Koumokuten” fashion item that increases HP, and the “Twister -NEO MIX-” CD to change the menu’s background music.

But that’s not all in terms of digital goodies. If you pick the game up on the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop by August 26, you’ll score a “Legendary Threads Set,” which includes five special, equippable items that used to belong to Neku, the first game’s protagonist.

Fret not if you miss this deadline, though, as you can still earn these items in the game, just much later on.

NEO: The World Ends with You takes place three years after the events of the upcoming The World Ends with You The Animation anime series. Additionally, the series begins its simulcast on Funimation later today!
