Naruto Ramen Chowdown may have wrapped up its fifth episode, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep celebrating the delicious food and Shinobi styling at home!
Throughout the original series from Funimation and VIZ Media, chef Jonathan Kung walked us through five uniquely inspired dishes based on some of the core characters of the original Naruto anime series: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi and Orochimaru.
In each episode, we were treated to step-by-step instructions on how to serve up some seriously delicious ramen recipes, all while celebrating the origin of everyone’s favorite budding Hokage. And now? Well, we want to share the recipes with you!

Episode 1: Naruto’s Miso Ramen

1 pack of miso ramen
1 slab of char siu – 8 oz sliced into 9 pieces
1 stick of narutomaki – thawed
1 egg, soft-boiled
1 bunch of scallions, sliced
1 sheet of roasted seaweed (nori)
Episode 2: Sasuke’s Purple Cold Vermicelli Noodle Salad

1 bundle of dried vermicelli noodles
2 tsp Szechuan chili oil
2 tbsp ponzu
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 cup of spouts
1 English cucumber
1 carrot
3 baby or 1 large bok choy
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
3 small tomatoes
1/4 cup butterfly pea blossoms
Episode 3: Sakura’s Beet and Shoyu Ramen

1 pack of shoyu or soy ramen
1–2 beets
2 tbsp of preserved bamboo
6 to as many as your heart desires frozen dumplings
2–3 sheets of roasted seaweed (nori)
1/4 cup dried butterfly pea blossoms
Episode 4: Kakashi’s Chidori Ramen

1 pack of roast chicken ramen
1 breast or thigh from a rotisserie chicken
1–3 tsp Szechuan peppercorn oil (start small and work your way up)
1 tsp – 1 tbsp Lao Gan Ma chili crisp (knowing thyself is critical to mastering the Shinobi way)
1 medium-sized tomato – beefsteak preferred
1 sheet of roasted seaweed (nori)
Episode 5: Orochimaru’s Squid Ink Laksa Ramen

1 bunch of purple sweet potato noodles (4 oz)
1 pack of laksa ramen
1 tbsp squid ink
3–4 tofu puffs
3–5 shrimp
1 whole squid or cod fillet
1 bunch of scallions
1 bunch of cilantro
