If you’ve been waiting for the native PlayStation 5 version of Genshin Impact, then there’s good news today! Developer miHoYo has announced that its hit game will be officially arriving on PS5 on April 28.
The game’s native PS5 version will include its 1.5 update called “Beneath the Light of Jadeite”.
The new update provides a deeper dive into the story of Liyue’s history with Zhongli. Players pick up where they left off with Zhongli during the second part of his story quest. Additionally, there is a new series of Hangout Events in Mondstadt involving Diona, the bartender at The Cat’s Tail.
There are also two new playable characters joining the cast, Eula and Yanfei. Eula is a rank 5 star character and is both the Spindrift Knight as well as the Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company.

Her element is Cryo (Ice) and wields a claymore in battle. She specializes in large area-of-effect damage that hits multiple enemies at once. She can also increase her resistance to being interrupted during battle.
Yanfei is a rank 4 star character who has pyro and fire based powers. She wields Catalysts for long range damage. Yanfei is also a half-human and half-illuminated beast who was born in Liyue. She studies, interprets, and advises her clients on Liyue’s laws.

The update also introduces the Serenitea Pot, which lets players build and decorate their own home away from home. Players can also choose between different house and realm styles with both outdoor and indoor activities. There are two new powerful enemies as well.
The first is Azhdala, who can utilize multiple elements and change the battlefield’s terrain. The other is the Cryo Hypostatis which can drop rare level-up materials when defeated.
Lastly, miHoYo released some screenshots of Inazuma, the third major city and region in the game that will arrive at a later date!
