Nearly eight years after the premiere of Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion, a brand-new sequel film titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten has been announced!
The announcement was made at the franchise’s 10th anniversary online event on Sunday, which unveiled a teaser PV and visual with the tagline “Now, let’s continue the story.”

Almost a decade has passed since the last installment, but the main cast are all set to reprise their roles, including Aoi Yuki as Madoka and Emiri Kato as Kyubey.
The original staff and studio SHAFT are also confirmed to return, including Gen Urobuchi, Akiyuki Shinbo, Ume Aoki, Yuki Kajiura, and Gekidan Inu Curry. A release date has yet to be revealed.
An exhibition celebrating the anime’s 10th anniversary, set to open from September 22 to October 4 in Tokyo, was also unveiled at the online event along with the release of the series’ soundtrack on streaming services worldwide.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica first aired in January 2011 and quickly became a cult classic. The fan-favorite franchise now spans multiple films, mobile games, manga, and a spin-off anime that was simulcast on Funimation in January last year.
