Ancient Magus' Bride OAD

Ready for more from the world of The Ancient Magus’ Bride? The upcoming three-episode original anime disc series has revealed a new trailer, confirming additional cast and giving fans a closer look at what to expect when the OAD arrives in Japan later this year.

The trailer, embedded on the series’ official website, reveals that voice actors Hiromi Igarashi (OVERLORD) and Aoi Ichikawa (Horimiya) have joined the cast of The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Nishi no Shonen to Seiran no Kishi as Gabriel and “Mysterious Boy,” respectively.

Announced in March, the project is set to focus on Gabriel, who is tired of living alone in an unfamiliar land. The OAD will be written by series author Kore Yamazaki, and takes place before Chise enrolls in college. And while fans will get to catch up with her and Elias, they’ll also get to know Gabriel.

The three-episode project will be produced by Studio Kafka, a new team built for this project, and will come bundled in Japan with the limited edition releases of Volumes 16, 17 and 18, the first of which arrives on September 10.

Previously announced crew members include Kazuaki Terasawa as director, Aya Takaha and Yoko Yonaiyama on scripts, and the return of series character designer Hirotaka Kato and composer Junichi Matsumoto.

The studio previously revealed a preview trailer featuring animation and voice lines from the series:
