BANDAI NAMCO has officially revealed a new trailer for Tales of Arise, the latest entry in the long-running RPG franchise.
The trailer premiered as part of this year’s Summer Game Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley. It showed up two new party members: Dohalim il Qaras and Captain Kisara.
Dohalim looks to be a composed fighter who wields a long polearm in battle. His primary objective for joining the party looks to be maintaining peace. Captain Kisara is part of the Elde Menancia Guard and wields a large shield and mace. Throughout the trailer, she is seen using the shield multiple times in order to repel attacks from large enemies, and can seemingly conjure the shield at will.
Not much is known currently about the intricacies of Tales of Arise’s battle system, but it looks to be as frenetic and action-packed as ever. In the trailer, two of the characters, Shionne and Law, perform an attack together called “Burn Strike,” where Shionne throws her bullets up in the air while Law kicks them, launching the bullets downward in a blast of flame.

Another new character was shown as well, a likely antagonist, whose name is currently unknown. He is donned with dark clothing, complete with a hood, cape and feathers. He also wields a long sword and attacks the party whenever they meet.
Tales of Arise launches on September 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Studio ufotable (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) returns to produce the game’s animated cutscenes.
