Kaiju No. 8 Celebrates Major Manga Milestone with Special Illustration

Kaiju No. 8 manga

Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 has been taking the manga world by storm, and Shueisha has confirmed that the Shonen Jump+ series has officially surpassed three million copies in circulation.

The milestone, which includes both print and digital copies of the manga, comes just three months after Kaiju No. 8 crossed the million milestone on March 4, and just a few weeks after it crossed 2.5 million copies. It’s also the fastest Shonen Jump+ title to reach this landmark.

Matsumoto posted an illustration to celebrate the milestone on Twitter:

Set in a world full of towering monsters called kaiju, an elite military unit known as the Defense Corps risk their lives daily to protect humanity. The story follows Kafka Hibino, who goes from being a sweeper (basically janitorial duty for monster cleanup) to a kaiju-powered humanoid monster with abilities that make him a fighting force in the Corps…if he can keep the secret.

VIZ Media licenses the series in English and publishes it digitally, with Volume 1 set for a print release later this year.
